Jejuoseong

Hey fellow explorers, Lisa here!
Are you planning a trip to Jeju Island and wondering where to grab an authentic, hearty breakfast?
Look no further. Today, I'm sharing one of my absolute favorite morning spots:
Jejuoseong, a hidden gem for traditional Jeju breakfasts.

Here's the insider secret: if you visit before 11:00 AM,
you can enjoy their signature abalone porridge, seafood hot pot, stone pot rice, or sea urchin seaweed soup
for just ~$8! The value for money is honestly unbeatable.
Jejuoseong is a beloved local institution.
In fact, my parents, who recently did a month-long stay on the island,
loved it so much they went back four times.
Let's dive into my honest, unsponsored review.

In today's post, I'll cover:
✔️ Jejuoseong Location & Info |
✔️ Recommended Menu & Prices |
✔️ My Honest Breakfast Experience |
Let's get started!

Jejuoseong is conveniently located
right in the Jungmun Tourist Complex area.
📍 Jejuoseong Boneless Galchi Jorim (Jungmun Main Branch)
27 Jungmungwangwang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do
While it's famous for its braised cutlassfish (galchi jorim) during lunch and dinner,
the mornings here are truly special.

If you drop by between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM,
you can feast on abalone porridge,
abalone seafood hot pot,
abalone stone pot rice,
and sea urchin seaweed soup for under ~$10.
It's only about a 3-minute walk from the main Jungmun Tourist Complex,
and incredibly close to Yeomiji Botanical Garden,
the Teddy Bear Museum,
and Cheonjeyeon Waterfall.
It's the perfect starting point before a full day of exploring!
As I mentioned, Jejuoseong is renowned for its braised cutlassfish,
especially the boneless version which is a local delicacy.
While we came specifically for the breakfast specials,
I noticed plenty of locals ordering the heavy-hitting cutlassfish dishes
even early in the morning!

The menu is essentially a greatest hits compilation
of must-eat Jeju Island seafood!

What makes the breakfast deal even better is the generous spread of
complimentary side dishes (banchan) and roasted seaweed.

We arrived around 9:10 AM.
Even at that early hour,
the dining room was already buzzing with hungry guests.

There's a spacious free parking lot right in front of the restaurant,
so pulling in was a breeze.
I noticed they have parking attendants during peak weekend and dinner hours,
which tells you how popular this place gets.

The interior is expansive and spotlessly clean.
The staff were incredibly welcoming, which my parents
really appreciated.
We were a group of six,
so we ordered three abalone porridges and three sea urchin seaweed soups.

Except for the porridge, all breakfast menus come with fresh stone pot rice.
The variety of side dishes was so impressive that
you could easily finish a whole bowl of rice just with the banchan!

The seaweed soup broth was deep, rich, and incredibly comforting.
The abalone porridge had that perfect creamy, nutty flavor you look for in Jeju.

While I wouldn't call it the absolute best gourmet experience of my life,
it is arguably the perfect, simple, and satisfying
Jeju breakfast to kickstart your day.
Because of the amazing value,
you'll actually see more locals here than tourists in the morning.
The flavors are mild and comforting,
making it a huge hit with families traveling with young kids.

If you're doing a long-term stay in Jeju like my parents did,
you can't eat expensive meals every single day.
Jejuoseong strikes that perfect balance of great taste and incredible value,
cementing its status as a must-visit local spot.

✔️ The ~$8 breakfast menu is only available from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
✔️ Free parking is available right in front.
✔️ Very family-friendly atmosphere
(High chairs are provided).
✔️ Close to Jungmun Tourist Complex and Cheonjeyeon Waterfall.
If you're wondering where to grab a satisfying morning bite on Jeju Island,
I highly recommend adding Jejuoseong to your itinerary.
It's a clean, budget-friendly, and delicious spot
that I'll definitely be returning to on my next trip.
