During a recent trip to Jeju, I found myself staying near the beautiful Hamdeok Beach. As evening approached, I was on the hunt for a truly authentic and delicious local meal. That's when I stumbled upon Sunpoong Haejangguk, a renowned eatery known for attracting Korean celebrities and serving up incredible hangover soup, conveniently located right by Hamdeok Beach.

Among the many delicious options, the absolute star at Sunpoong Haejangguk is their Gosari Yuknae-tang – a truly unique and sought-after dish. It’s often a limited-quantity item, so if you see it available, grab it! I was lucky enough to order this popular dish during my visit.

The walls are adorned with signatures and photos of numerous celebrities who have visited, some instantly recognizable, others perhaps more familiar to local audiences. It's clear this place has a star-studded reputation!

While the table kiosks are super convenient, you'll also find plenty of menu boards displayed on the walls, making it easy to see all your options before you order.

The most famous and frequently ordered dish at Sunpoong Haejangguk in Hamdeok is undoubtedly the Gosari Yuknae-tang. It’s important to know that this is entirely different from the more commonly known Jeju-style Gosari Yukgaejang (bracken spicy beef soup)!

Jeju Gosari Yukgaejang features shredded bracken that mimics the texture of meat, which is delicious in its own right. However, Gosari Yuknae-tang is more akin to an offal soup, with the added earthy flavor of bracken. It truly feels like enjoying a unique Jeju-style offal soup, elevated by the distinctive bracken.
