Enjoy hot springs and amazing performances!

As May rolls around,

festivals kick off all over Daejeon,

and among them,

the one we eagerly await every year is the

Yuseong Hot Spring Culture Festival.

This year, it's getting a fresh start,

moving from its usual spot on Oncheon-ro

to Yurim Park, which has me even more excited!

With this change to a park-style festival,

it feels much more relaxed

and perfect for a family outing.

From hot spring foot bath experiences

to busking, parades, and even a drone show,

it's shaping up to be a truly rejuvenating festival.

And the best part?

Admission is completely free!

It's perfect for a casual day out with the kids,

and it looks like a fantastic spot for a date, too,

so I highly recommend it as a must-visit in Daejeon this May!

The 2026 Yuseong Hot Spring Culture Festival is

Yuseong-gu's signature event and

one of Daejeon's quintessential spring festivals.

What makes this year special is that

due to construction for the Hot Spring Culture Experience Center,

the festival venue has been changed to Yurim Park.

Actually, it blends in beautifully with the park's atmosphere,

making it even more comfortable to enjoy.

Yurim Park itself is

a wonderful place for a stroll,

so it's perfect for spreading out a mat, relaxing,

and enjoying the performances!

2. Location and Parking

This year, the 2026 Yuseong Hot Spring Culture Festival will take place

not on Yuseong Oncheon-ro,

but throughout the Yurim Park area.

For Daejeon residents, this is a familiar spot.

It's connected to the Gapcheon walking trail,

making it a fantastic place to enjoy the festival

and take a leisurely stroll at the same time.

Especially in spring, Yurim Park is

breathtakingly beautiful with all its flowers,

so the atmosphere is lovely during the day,

and when the night lights come on,

it creates a wonderful stroll-worthy vibe, perfect for a romantic date!

Free Temporary Parking Available

① Yurim Park on-street parking (Only available for vehicles with disabled persons, infants/toddlers, or national merit recipients) → Note: Parking is extremely difficult even for these eligible vehicles. ② Yuseong-gu Office surface parking → This fills up first. ③ Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), KAIST (Available after 6 PM, weekends only) → It's a bit far, but often the best option for parking. ⑤ Oncheon-dong-ro one-sided on-street parking (Joheunharu Apt. ~ Homeplus section) → Fills up quickly. ⑥ Gapcheon Hasang Park in front of KISTI → Personally my top choice, but unavailable in case of rain. ⑦ Annyeong Center underground parking → Usually full even on regular days. ⑧ Star Dream Park underground parking → It's quite far.

During the festival period,

the Yurim Park area gets

extremely crowded.

Especially on Friday evening, when the opening ceremony is held,

and Saturday afternoon to evening,

parking is exceptionally difficult.

Therefore, I personally recommend

arriving a bit early or

using public transportation.

🚌 Public Transportation Tips

Yurim Park is located downtown,

offering excellent bus access.

Especially considering the time it takes for cars to exit after the festival,

taking the bus might actually be more convenient.

3. This Year's Festival is Extra Special!

This year, the Yuseong Hot Spring Culture Festival

will be held around Yurim Park,

instead of its usual location on Hot Spring Road.

Honestly, at first,

I wondered if it would be okay

since it wouldn't be on Hot Spring Road,

where it's held every year.

When you think of Yuseong Hot Spring,

the unique atmosphere of the hot spring street

and the foot bath areas come to mind.

"Will we still be able to enjoy the hot springs?"

I admit, I was a bit worried.

To be honest, with the location change,

I was a little disappointed, you know?

But after looking at the program,

I realized that this year

it's even more spectacular

and designed for a wider range of enjoyment.

It really felt like a positive change.

What's more, during this festival period,

the "Yuseong Spring Flower Exhibition" will also be held.

Yurim Park in May

is already a beautiful time with tulips and seasonal flowers,

and with the exhibition happening alongside,

it's going to be even more spectacular!

For those who love taking photos,

it's the perfect place to capture some incredible shots.

On top of all that,

a Silver Festival will also be taking place.

With club performances by seniors, a senior fashion show, traditional game experiences, and more,

programs for all generations to enjoy have been added,

making it wonderful to visit with your children,

or with your parents.

4. Festival Layout & Things to Enjoy!

The festival venue is largely

operated with three themed zones.

Thanks to the spacious atmosphere unique to Yurim Park,

I think it will feel less confined.

Even though the Yuseong Hot Spring festival grounds have moved,

the foot bath experience zone and hot spring water massage experience are still available.

Plus, there's an aroma dome and a scent pouch experience zone,

and even a drone experience that kids will love!

However, unfortunately,

it seems like the Yuseong Hot Spring Water Gun Play

won't be taking place.

This is actually considered a main event

of the Hot Spring Culture Festival, you know...

the lineup is quite spectacular!

It's divided into East and West sides,

with a Main Stage and a Busking Stage.

The Main Stage is located on the East side of Yurim Park (Grass Plaza).

What I'm most looking forward to

at this festival is definitely

The Drone Light Show, in particular,

is said to feature 1,500 drones!

Paired with the night view along Gapcheon Stream,

the atmosphere is going to be truly magical.

The DJ Party on Saturday has

200 standing spots,

and tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 17:00 (East Information Desk).

Admission begins at 18:00.

It feels like the daytime caters to the older generation,

while the evening transitions into a more youthful vibe,

so Saturday is likely to be packed all day!

and with the festival season coinciding with the blooming season,

I highly recommend taking a leisurely stroll and exploring it all.

8. Yuseong Silver Festival

the Yuseong Silver Festival will

also be taking place concurrently.

9. Insider Tips for Your Visit

✔️ It's a good idea to grab your spot early for the Friday opening ceremony.

✔️ Bringing a mat will make your experience much more comfortable.

✔️ Evenings can be surprisingly chilly.

✔️ On weekends, I recommend considering public transportation.

✔️ If you're visiting with kids, the daytime is highly recommended!

✔️ For the drone show, find a spot with a clear view towards the Gapcheon Stream!

✔️ Comfortable sneakers are a MUST (you'll be walking more than you think)!

✔️ Make sure to check the food zone operating hours in advance!
