Jangdong Manam Park Location Guide
📍 Jangdong Manam Park
353 Jangdong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon
Jangdong Manam Park is nestled near Jangdong Forest Park and Gyeyoksan Mountain.
It's a tranquil rural village, perfect for escaping the busy city and
taking a peaceful break.

Honestly, when I first visited a few years ago,
I was surprised to discover such a place in Daejeon.
It hasn't been commercialized, and
retains its natural charm, which makes me love it even more.

Jangdong Manam Park Parking Guide
There is no dedicated parking lot.
However, roadside parking is available around the park, so
it wasn't a major inconvenience.
Since it's quite rural, there isn't much traffic, and
as a hidden gem, it doesn't attract hordes of visitors, so
parking was easy.

Jangdong Manam Park Green Barley Field
Around this time of year, Jangdong Manam Park's
vast fields of green barley slowly begin to attract visitors.

Perhaps because it's still relatively unknown,
it was quieter than I expected, allowing for a truly peaceful and unhurried exploration.

On the day I visited (May 8, 2025),
the green barley was in full splendor,
swaying vibrantly.

Walking amidst the shimmering green barley, catching the sunlight and rustling softly in the breeze,
truly felt like a healing experience.

What made it even better was the narrow pathway through the green barley field,
allowing you to feel closer to these
lush greens.

While the narrow paths *within* the green barley field aren't suitable for strollers or wheelchairs,
most of the outer perimeter roads are
wide enough for vehicles, making it much
easier to get around.
With almost no car traffic,
it was wonderful to explore at a leisurely pace.

Jangdong Manam Park is not only great for a walk but also fantastic for taking photos.
When you snap photos amidst the green barley,
the entirely green backdrop creates an absolutely stunning atmosphere!

Even if you just point your camera,
you'll effortlessly capture soulful, aesthetic photos!
Thanks to the lush green backdrop, even casual snaps look like they're from a magazine photoshoot!

While the green barley alone is incredibly beautiful,
the poppies blooming amidst the barley fields
truly capture your gaze.

The vibrant red stood out amidst the green,
radiating a powerful presence.

Usually, when you think of green barley fields,
only a landscape full of green waves comes to mind, right?
But here, nestled amongst them,
the red-blooming poppies are also blended in,
making the harmony of red and green truly a work of art.
You can only see this unique sight at Jangdong Man-nam Park!

While poppies bloom higher up,
down below, I spotted cornflowers still in bud.

The flowers hadn't fully bloomed yet,
and many were still in their bud stage.
In a few days, I imagine the cornflowers will also burst open,
adding another beautiful blue accent to the green barley field landscape.
The harmony of colors will truly be a masterpiece, don't you think?

Jangdong Man-nam Park
even hosts festivals in the summer when cosmos flowers are in full bloom,
which is probably why you'll find some leftover photo boards (the kind where you put your face through the cutout!)
from the cosmos festival still in the barley fields.
They're perfect for some fun photo ops! haha

Honestly, while it's called a park,
it feels less like a park and more like
a peaceful stroll along a country road. haha

Nestled in a quiet corner of a rural village,
it's wonderful to simply stroll and enjoy the sounds of the wind and birds.
It's the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and truly unwind.

Inside the park,
there's no shade to escape the sun.
So, on bright, sunny afternoons, it can get quite warm;
it's a good idea to wear a hat or bring a parasol.

The park also features well-maintained basic facilities like exercise equipment, benches, and restrooms,
making it comfortable for everyone, from seniors to children,
to enjoy.

The Jangdong Manam Park Green Barley Field
might not be a famous tourist spot,
but that's exactly why it's the perfect place to spend some quiet, leisurely time.
It's still not widely known on social media,
making it truly deserving of the title 'hidden gem.'
This weekend, instead of bustling crowds,
immerse yourself in the tranquil green waves,
and enjoy a relaxing, healing stroll.

Wheelchair and stroller access is partially possible. While narrow paths between the green barley fields may be difficult, the wider outer paths are reported to be convenient for passage.
Vivid red poppy flowers are blooming among the green barley fields. Additionally, cornflowers are in bud further down, expected to add blue accents in a few days.
