Burnwood Yongsan: A Hidden Gem for Atmospheric Dining
Searching for a charming spot in Yongsan? Burnwood Yongsan offers a fantastic ambiance and delicious dishes like grilled napa cabbage. A must-visit for a memorable meal in Yongnidan-gil.

Saturday evening,
I had plans with friends in Yongsan,
and while searching for a **place with a great ambiance**,
I discovered Burnwood Yongsan.
Yongsan, especially Yongnidan-gil,
is always bustling on weekend evenings 😅,
so to avoid the hassle of waiting,
I looked for a **Yongnidan-gil restaurant that takes reservations**!

Burnwood Yongsan is located
at the entrance of Yongnidan-gil,
about a **10-minute walk from Yongsan Station**.
Parking can be tricky due to the neighborhood's characteristics,
so I recommend taking public transportation.
📍 BurnWood
2F, 17-7 Hangangdaero 21-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
It's on the second floor of the building,
so when you go up,
you'll find that instead of a sign,
there's a **small paper note**, like a hidden gem.
Burnwood:
Where the city's night meets the heat of charcoal.

Is this really it...?
Hesitantly, as I opened the white door,

The vibe was incredible!
It was like stepping into another world.

Burnwood Yongsan is famous for its terrace seating,
but the interior seats
also had such a wonderful ambiance!

We booked a table for three,
and were guided to a terrace spot!
By the way, when booking via Naver,
you can choose between **bar seating and table seating** :)
If you're coming as a pair,
the bar seating would be lovely too!

The weather was also perfect that day,
so the **terrace seating with open windows**
was 100% satisfying!

They open at 5 PM,
and when we arrived after booking around **5:30 PM**,
it was relatively quiet.
However, as time went on,
the tables filled up,
and by the time we left,
it was completely full!

A thoughtful touch I noticed at Burnwood Yongsan's terrace seating
was the **blankets** freely available for use :)

There were also bag stands where you could put your bags,
making our stay very comfortable.
Burnwood Yongsan: Menu Recommendations

There were three of us,
and here's what we ordered first:
Grilled Napa Cabbage ~$8
White Ragu Pasta ~$20
Pork Jowl Steak ~$24

The menu is conveniently tucked
into the wall next to the indirect lighting, just like this.
Since this is primarily a bar,
we figured we'd order more later,
so we didn't give the menu back.

For dinner at Yongsan Burnwood,
one alcoholic beverage per person
is mandatory.
Their drinks menu
focuses on whiskies and highballs,
with a great variety.
We opted for the highball menu!
Corkage is also available, but
for a 750ml bottle:
Wine, Cheongju (Korean rice wine) ~$22
Hard liquor ~$36
Additional fee for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays ~$15
so it's not exactly cheap 😅

1. Grilled Napa Cabbage
Seriously, I highly recommend this!
It's only ~$8, so it's affordable,
and it was the perfect appetizer to whet our appetites.
Since they specialize in charcoal grilling,
you can see how beautifully charred and golden brown
the napa cabbage is from the direct flame, right?
The inside was crisp,
while the outside had a subtle smoky aroma.
The sweet napa cabbage texture was just divine.
We really enjoyed it.
The sauce underneath was a
kimchi-based cream sauce,
and it paired wonderfully!

2. White Ragu Pasta
Next up was the
White Ragu Pasta, and it was
an absolute winner!
The pasta was freshly made,
and its firm, chewy texture perfectly complemented the white ragu sauce.
Plus, it came with a generous topping of ground meat,
which made the texture truly hit the spot.

3. Pork Jowl Steak
Burnwood Yongsan is known for its
charcoal-grilled dishes,
so this was the menu item I was most looking forward to.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, but
the Pork Jowl Steak was
a little... ordinary?
Pork jowl is naturally a fatty cut, so
the taste can be a bit polarizing depending on the cooking style.
For me, it felt a little too rich.
However, it was still delicious when eaten with the garnish of
slightly spicy stir-fried mushrooms,
pickled onions, and green onions.
It really helped balance the flavors!

Nevertheless, its chewy and rich flavor
definitely made the drinks go down smoothly.
After enjoying these dishes, we decided
to order one more menu item.

4. Eggplant Lasagna
The additional dish we ordered was
Eggplant Lasagna!
With char-grilled eggplant,
topped with rich, gooey cheese
and tomato sauce,
it was such a delicious finish!
Oh, by the way, while it's called lasagna,
it's a dish made entirely with eggplant, with no flour!
If I had to rank the menu
based purely on my personal favorites, here's the lowdown:
My #1 Pick: Eggplant Lasagna, Char-grilled Napa Cabbage
> My #2 Pick: White Ragu Pasta
> My #3 Pick: Pork Jowl Steak

As night fell, the terrace seats were
completely full,
and the indoor area felt even more atmospheric!
However, for my personal taste,
rather than the meat dishes,
it was actually the char-grilled vegetable dishes
that were even more delicious!
Now, I'm naturally a big fan of vegetable dishes,
so this might just be my personal preference –
but please keep it in mind!
With its wonderful ambiance
and generally delicious food,
Vernood in Yongsan is definitely a place I'd love to revisit
on a beautiful day! 😉
