WeWork Yeouido Seoul FinTech Lab: 20th Floor Lounge Review

I visited for a meeting with Seoul FinTech Lab, and here's my review of

WeWork Yeouido!

Exit Yeouido Station via Exit 3,

cross a small crosswalk,

and you'll see a building with a Starbucks on the first floor.

This is O2 Tower,

where WeWork Yeouido is located.

Once you enter the first floor,

the building is divided into

WeWork on the left and

general offices on the right.

So, visitors to WeWork Yeouido

should use the elevators on the left.

What's special about WeWork Yeouido is that

Seoul FinTech Lab occupies six floors,

and it's home to various FinTech companies

supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The elevators are

like hotel elevators;

for spaces used as shared offices,

you need to tap a key card to press the button.

However, the 20th-floor common lounge

is accessible even without a WeWork membership

if you've received a guest invitation.

I had a chance to briefly check out

the 8th-floor office space used by Seoul FinTech Lab,

and there's a small common area near the entrance

where you can hold meetings,

or enjoy simple drinks and food.

Each floor is equipped with an espresso machine,

a water purifier, refrigerator, tea bags, and 'tea of the day'.

After a quick tour of the office space,

I headed up to the meeting venue,

the 20th-floor lounge at WeWork Yeouido.

Even if you're not renting an office,

individuals can purchase a WeWork All Access membership.

With an All Access membership,

the accessible workspaces include the main lounge on the 20th floor,

as well as lounges on the 16th, 18th, 21st, and 22nd floors.

If you're an All Access member,

you can book meeting rooms, invite guests,

You can use printers and other facilities,

and they even offer free parking, but only for 30 minutes...😅

So, honestly, it's probably easier to just use public transport.

When you first enter, you'll need to head to the information desk.

There, you'll fill in some basic personal details

and complete the guest check-in process.

I've been to the Yeouido WeWork a few times,

and the lounge is always buzzing with people!

They even had a draft beer tap,

though it's not always running.

The beer tap operates

every Thursday and Friday

from 4 PM to 6 PM.

The coffee machine uses

Paul Bassett beans,

and you can whip up espresso, Americano, or latte.

You can also enjoy decaf coffee or the ever-changing

Tea of the Day.

On the day I visited,

it was Nurungji Hutgae Tea (Scorched Rice and Oriental Raisin Tea).

And for those who like to customize their drinks,

hazelnut and vanilla syrups were also available.

From cup noodles and snacks to hot bars and more,

there was also a snack bar with an impressive selection,

(Note: These require paid purchase!)

Beyond that, they also host various events for members

and feature a 'Recommended Book of the Month' that you can borrow.

To the side, you'll find mailboxes

and personal lockers.

There's also an inner area with meeting rooms and phone booths,

but this space is exclusively for members.

You'll need a key card for access.

You'll find comfy sofa areas perfect for relaxing,

round tables great for meetings,

and tables designed for laptop work.

While each spot has its own unique vibe,

they all come equipped with convenient power outlets or multi-taps.

On the 20th floor of WeWork Yeouido,

step out into the hallway,

and you'll find the men's restroom on the left,

with the women's restroom on the right.

WeWork Yeouido is also famed for something else:

its incredible restroom views!

On a clear day,

you can even see the Han River crystal clear!

Just before the pandemic, there was a massive boom in shared office spaces,

and WeWork was certainly at the peak of its popularity.

Currently, with some challenges involving its founder

and various other factors, it might not command the same reputation

it once did.

Nevertheless, having revisited WeWork Yeouido after a while,

while there might be differing opinions,

I still think that for freelancers, small businesses,

or solo entrepreneurs who need a dedicated meeting or workspace,

it remains a truly useful option!
