Yeouido Brighton Library Review 2026: LP Music, Exhibits, & Kids Cafe
Explore Yeouido Brighton Library, a stunning new cultural hub in Seoul. Enjoy unique book curation, interactive exhibits, and a cozy LP listening zone. It's more comfortable than a cafe!

A brand new public library just opened at
**Yeouido Brighton**, so I went to check it out!
From unique book curation
to interactive exhibitions,
and even an LP listening zone,
it was **surprisingly wonderful**!
Here's my review of the Yeouido Brighton Library.

How to Get to Brighton Library
If you come down via the stairs or escalator
to the central plaza on basement level 1
of Yeouido Brighton,
you'll see a sign on the side for the
**Yeouido Brighton Library
& English Kids Cafe**.

This place has a slightly different vibe
than what you'd typically expect from a library.

The space is so beautifully designed
that I personally felt it was a place where you could comfortably stay
**even longer than at a cafe**!

As you enter the Yeouido Brighton Library,
you'll first find the **lobby and information desk**,
where you can pick up a map.

As a newly built library,
it boasts excellent amenities like
**restrooms, a nursing room, and lockers**.
And here's the best part: if you're a Seoul citizen or
work in Seoul,
anyone can use it for free!

It's not just about books here;
they also have beautifully arranged small exhibition spaces inside.
The space itself feels like a
**library + gallery** all rolled into one.
You can read a book, then enjoy an exhibition,
and then sit back and relax.
It's truly a heavenly place for anyone who loves books!
Yeouido Brighton Library Exhibitions

I was particularly impressed by the ongoing interactive exhibition
called **a Day, a Story.**
It's an exhibition where you follow three steps
to **discover your own writing style and preferences**!

First, the initial step is...
A test to discover my writing style!
My code came out as ABC,

Harmonious Record Architect!
The next step revealed authors who matched my tendencies
and writing style.

Ernest Hemingway,
Franz Kafka,
Emily Dickinson
Out of these three prominent modern literary authors,
the one most similar to me was
Ernest Hemingway!

Although I vividly remembered reading his works during my English literature major, and they made quite an impression,
he wasn't actually an author I particularly liked, but
it made me want to revisit Hemingway's novels after all this time!

Finally,
in this calm and beautiful space,
you can transcribe your favorite book passages! :)

There's quite a variety of seating options:
spots perfect for solo concentration,
comfy places to settle in with a book,
cafe-style window seats, and more.

What I especially loved was
the perfect balance between spaces for focused work
and areas designed for comfortable relaxation!

While there are cozy sofa-style spaces for ultimate relaxation,
you'll also find plenty of quiet tables perfect for laptop work
with easily accessible power outlets, making it an ideal spot to get things done!

Another amazing discovery was
the presence of a laptop rental service!
Being able to rent a laptop at a library — how incredible is that?
They even have dedicated laptops just for OTT streaming services!

There are also priority seats for those with disabilities,
and you can print documents too.
Searching for books is easy with the tablets,
and they're conveniently placed in several locations.
LP Listening Lounge

Personally, what impressed me the most was
the dedicated LP listening space.
While places where you can listen to LPs are becoming more common these days,
I've never seen one so naturally integrated
into a library before!

There were only two seats available for LP listening,
so they were quite popular.
I waited a bit until a seat opened up,
and finally, I sat down!

The instructions for use were also clearly laid out,
making it simple enough for anyone to enjoy,
even if they're not familiar with LPs.
Just pick an album, place it on the turntable,
and press the start button to play – that's it!

Reading a book while listening to an LP record
on a cozy leather sofa by a window
filled with natural light?
I've decided to call this happiness. 🥹
Yeouido Brighton Library
English Reference Room, Kids Cafe

Another thing that really stood out was
the English Reference Room tucked away inside!
The atmosphere was incredible, with shelves packed full of English books
that are hard to find elsewhere, and a quote from L. Frank Baum's masterpiece,
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, scrolling across an electronic display...
If a place like this had existed when I was a university student
studying English literature, I probably would have read so many more works (?).

If the English Reference Room is a space for adults,
then further inside, there's also a separate
English Kids Cafe designed for children.

With its generally rounded and cozy interior design,
it definitely had a distinct feel from the adult spaces, haha.

The Yeouido Brighton Library is part of the Yeouido Brighton residential-commercial complex
This is a case where, during development,
a public library was established alongside it
as a public donation.
With a library, exhibitions, music, and even an English kids' cafe
all housed within one space,
I'd say it's practically a tremendous lifestyle infrastructure premium!
Even from an urban development or real estate perspective,
I believe it's a fantastic win-win case :)

I've always loved books,
so I often visit places like
libraries, book cafes, and bookstores,
but the Yeouido Brighton Library was
hands-down the best among the spaces
I've visited recently..!
My company is also nearby,
so I'm definitely planning to revisit!
It would be absolutely wonderful to go and relax,
listening to LPs during lunch when I have some free time😌
