Seokam Saeng Sogum Gui, Famous for its Stone Plate Jjapaghetti
While known for its unique side dishes,
the main meat quality was also high,
and the atmosphere was perfect for a drink,
making it a great spot for company dinners in Yeongdeungpo.
Let me share my review of Seokam Saeng Sogum Gui in Yeongdeungpo.
1. Seokam Saeng Sogum Gui

Business Hours | Weekdays 4:30 PM ~ 12:00 AM Weekends 12:00 PM ~ 12:00 AM |
It's just a 4-minute walk from Yeongdeungpo Station (Line 1),
making it easily accessible.
Plus, being right by a main road,
it was convenient to catch a taxi after a company dinner.

Even visiting late on a weekday evening,
the place was packed,
and many tables were enjoying drinks.
I could even spot some office workers having their company dinner on one side.

As soon as we sat down, the table was quickly set
with a neat array of essential side dishes,
perfect for pairing with meat.
2. Menu

They have Samgyeop (Pork Belly), Cheongyeop (Thinly Sliced Pork Belly), Loseu Samgyeop (Roast Pork Belly), and assorted platters.
The assorted platter is said to be their signature dish.
So, we ordered the assorted platter.

Other side dishes that pair well with the meat include
potatoes, fresh water parsley, egg soup, and uniquely,
tteokssam (rice cake wraps) and grilled cheese.
Loseu Samgyeop + Tteokssam + Grilled Cheese
This "samhap" (three-flavor combination) is incredibly popular, so
if you visit Seokam Saeng Sogum Gui in Yeongdeungpo, you definitely have to try it!
3. Review of this Yeongdeungpo Hotspot

While waiting for the meat to arrive after ordering,
the complimentary side dishes tantalized our taste buds.
The heat had killed my appetite, but
thanks to the cool and tangy muk-saball (chilled acorn jelly soup),
the heat dissipated, and it was a refreshing start.
The staff grill the meat and kimchi for you directly.
Watching it sizzle on the stone grill truly made my mouth water 🥹

The Samgyeopsal (pork belly) burst with savory juices,
and its excellent lean-to-fat ratio meant it wasn't dry but perfectly succulent,
offering a great texture.
The Cheongyeop (thinly sliced pork belly) had a delightfully chewy texture that was appealing,
and its rich, savory flavor kept me reaching for more.

While the meat at Seogam Saeng Sogumgui is incredibly delicious,
this kimchi is the absolute 'kick'!
Because it's Chungju Apple Kimchi, fermented with Chungju apples,
you'll taste a subtle sweetness and a refreshing tang,
and it perfectly cuts through the richness of the meat,
allowing you to savor it even more cleanly and delightfully ´-

There are two types of sauces: a fermented seafood stew (jeotgal jorim) and a garlic meat sauce (maneul yukjang).
Each possesses a distinct charm,
making the meat taste wonderfully unique with every bite,
and I enjoyed it thoroughly without getting tired of the flavors! Haha.
Thanks to this, the drinks flowed easily, too.
It's perfect for enjoying a drink with your meat,
so I'd recommend it not just as a fantastic samgyeopsal restaurant in Yeongdeungpo, but also as a great spot for drinks!

Perhaps because it's a stone grill, the heat lasted a long time,
allowing me to savor every last piece warm.

After finishing the meat, stir-fried rice (bokkeumbap) is the national rule, isn't it?!
However, Seogam Saeng Sogumgui is more famous for its
stone plate Jjapaghetti (jjajang ramen), so
I highly recommend trying the Jjapaghetti instead of bokkeumbap.
But the bokkeumbap is delicious too, so just get both! ✨

With a special black bean sauce (jjajang sauce) added to the Jjapaghetti,
it definitely tasted different from regular Jjapaghetti!
I could feel a deeper, richer flavor,
and with radish salad (musaengchae) served alongside,
it was fantastic to enjoy it with a crunchy texture instead of kimchi.

The noodles had a perfect chewy texture, making them delightful to eat,
and you can even add toppings like cheese or a fried egg,
so feel free to customize it to your liking!

When you finish your meal and head out,
you can even grab a soft-serve ice cream,
which was the perfect clean finish to clear my palate after all that rich food.
Made with premium Grade 1 milk, the ice cream
had a rich, nutty milk flavor,
and it was such a perfect dessert.

I definitely want to recommend Seogam Saeng Sogumgui
as a must-visit meat restaurant in Yeongdeungpo.
From the succulent, juicy meat
to the stone plate Jjapaghetti and the tangy Chungju Apple Kimchi,
every single item on the menu was satisfying.
The atmosphere is also perfect for enjoying a drink with your meal,
making it a great Yeongdeungpo pub that's ideal for
group dinners or gatherings.
If you're looking for a great restaurant or a place for a company dinner in Yeongdeungpo, I highly recommend it!
