Wooara Gwanghwamun Review: Upscale Korean Dining in Seoul

I had something special to celebrate with my parents,

so I went on a mission to find the perfect Korean restaurant in Anguk to take them to.

A place with a fantastic atmosphere where we could enjoy both premium beef and a full Korean course meal...

and I finally booked a table at Woora Gwanghwamun! Yay!

Woora Gwanghwamun is conveniently located near Anguk Station, Gwanghwamun Station, and Gyeongbokgung Palace Station,

specifically in the basement of The K Twin Towers!

I even enjoyed a pleasant walk there from Jonggak Station.

Just take the escalator visible right on the building's exterior down to the restaurant!

Just a heads-up, we visited for dinner after work on a weekday.

Right from the entrance, you can feel the luxurious ambiance, can't you?

I arrived a bit early and sat in the waiting area in front of Woora while waiting for my parents. I noticed quite a few people like me, who were also bringing their parents,

as well as couples on dates, and even many international guests!

All Private Rooms: A Unique Dining Experience!

For those searching for a Korean restaurant in Anguk that offers private rooms,

this place will be an excellent choice.

It's a perfect private room restaurant, with every single table set within its own private space!

​

This is the room we were guided to.

The private room setting made conversation easy and comfortable,

allowing us to enjoy a relaxed dinner.

They even have larger group rooms available than what you see in the photos,

making it perfect for company dinners or larger group gatherings.

The lunch menu offered a total of four distinct courses.

​

Ranging from around ~$22 to ~$36 and up to ~$73,

you can choose from various price points depending on the occasion.

Woora Dinner Courses

We visited for dinner, and while there were à la carte options,

we chose a dinner course menu!

The dinner courses also range from around ~$66 to ~$131.

We decided to go with the Dinner B Course~

The staff member showcased the fresh ingredients used in the dinner course

right before our eyes – it was fantastic!!!

As they explained each ingredient one by one, my parents absolutely loved it!

Coming to this Anguk Korean restaurant was definitely a great choice.

Not just beef—

lobster, shrimp, tuna, red tilefish, abalone, and other premium ingredients,

all gathered here at Uahra! 🐟🐠🦞🦐🥩🍅🌽

Anniversary Reservation Event - Champagne

Another reason why I recommend this place for dining with your parents:

if you make a reservation for an anniversary, they offer one glass of champagne per person.

If you need a non-alcoholic option, it can be replaced with grape juice!!! How amazing is that?

Dinner B Course

So, shall we begin our Dinner B Course?

First up is steamed egg custard – but this isn't just any steamed egg custard; it's a special one topped with sweet shrimp and herring roe.

Soft, warm, and beautiful~ It earned applause right from the very first dish.

Next are Uahra's four elegant bite-sized dishes, truly exquisite:

☑️ Brioche Hanwoo Yukhoe (Korean Beef Tartare)

☑️ Lobster and Red Shrimp Pastry

☑️ Seaweed Tartare Sushi with Scallop

☑️ Truffle Tenderloin Fritters

They came out so beautifully, like individual works of art!

And they weren't just pretty to look at; each one was absolutely delicious! 👍🏻

The next masterpiece is tuna 🐟.

It's a dish served with *chamnamul* (pignut namul) and pickled mini cabbage,

meant to be dipped in a yuzu sauce.

I loved that we could enjoy not only beef but also a variety of seafood with this dish~

Next is the Chodang Corn Soup 💛!

The plating is so unique and distinctive, isn't it?

You could really feel the attention to every single detail.

And now, for the abalone dish!

The fantastic harmony of tender abalone, steamed zucchini, and braised radish.

I want to eat this again!😊

Now it's Tilefish time!!!

This dish features tilefish served with chwinamul rice and broth.

A highlight of this Anguk Korean restaurant... absolutely delicious!

By this point, I was getting SO full, lolllll.

The set menu was really well-composed and generously served.

Both my parents and I were satisfied, so this place is definitely on my list for a revisit.

Then, cleanse your palate with Perilla Oil Stone Octopus Hanwoo Noodles~~~

And finally, the main course!!!

It's Hanwoo sirloin beef and a traditional Korean dining set (bansang).

Rice, seaweed soup, and side dishes are all refillable, by the way!

You grill the beef on your personal mini-grill.

It comes pre-grilled, so you can finish it to your absolute favorite level of delicious doneness!

Finally, the desserts are incredible too! 🖤

With dessert lettering and even a Polaroid photo service,

these are special benefits you can enjoy when you make an anniversary reservation.

It's a place where you can celebrate special occasions even more memorably.
