An Honest Review: From Room to Pool

Hotels aren't just for sleeping anymore; they've become destinations in themselves, offering a variety of facilities for a relaxing escape. This is what Koreans call a "Hocance" – a hotel vacation focused purely on unwinding and enjoying the amenities.

In the past, I've often found myself rushing around during my hotel stays, trying to do too much. This time, I made a conscious effort to truly relax and take it easy, and it made all the difference.

For this much-needed break, I chose the magnificent Westin Seoul Parnas, nestled in the vibrant Samseong-dong district.

Focusing on slow-paced enjoyment within the hotel was incredibly refreshing. It turns out, a day of pure relaxation was exactly what I needed!

Thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy membership, I had the pleasure of checking in at the Club Lounge on the 30th floor.

The relaxed check-in process at the lounge, coupled with the friendly explanation of late check-out benefits, truly set a wonderful tone for my "Hocance" right from the start!

We were assigned room 1164.

Stepping into the room, I was immediately struck by its clean, serene, and sophisticated ambiance. Across from the bed, a comfortable table and chairs offered the perfect spot for enjoying a quick snack or a morning coffee.

But let's be honest, when you think of Westin, you think of their incredibly comfortable beds!

The room features Westin's signature Heavenly Bed system, which includes a custom-designed mattress, a plush topper, and crisp, pure cotton sheets. While I'm no bedding expert, I can definitively say that lying on this bed was pure bliss – truly a heavenly experience.

The room was also well-equipped with a Nespresso machine and a selection of teas, a dehumidifier, and even a steam iron – pretty much everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

There’s truly nothing better than brewing a fresh cup of coffee and enjoying it leisurely by the window while staying at a hotel. ☕️

The bathroom is conveniently located just to the right of the room's entrance.

It features a spacious vanity and a bathtub, with the toilet conveniently separated into its own private space, which is always a plus for comfort and privacy.

Plenty of fresh towels were neatly stacked under the sink, and there was even a separate basket for used towels, keeping everything tidy and organized.

In addition to the large main mirror, a magnifying mirror was also provided, making it super easy for getting ready or applying makeup.

The amenities included shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, all featuring a lovely White Tea scent. The subtle and clean fragrance was definitely a highlight for me.

Just a heads-up: toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors are available for a fee, so if you prefer, it's a good idea to bring your own!

And what's a "Hocance" without a refreshing dip in the pool, right? 😉

While I wouldn't call myself a strong swimmer, I always feel like a hotel stay isn't complete without at least a quick splash around. So, I headed down for some leisurely time in the water.

Luckily, it wasn't crowded, so I felt like I had the entire pool almost to myself, which was incredibly peaceful.

I spent some quality time unwinding by the poolside, truly soaking in the serene atmosphere and making the most of my hotel day.

My "Hocance" at The Westin Seoul Parnas was truly fantastic! The recent remodeling has made it even more pristine and enjoyable. While I can't often indulge in such luxurious hotel getaways, every time I do, it's absolutely wonderful. I'm already dreaming of my next visit! ❤️
