Gapyeong's Jiwoo Resort is...
located right next to the Nami Island ferry wharf!
This makes it super easy to explore different spots around Gapyeong
and incredibly convenient for getting in and out of Nami Island.
If you stay on Nami Island itself, you can only leave during ferry operating hours.
But staying here, you can easily access both Nami Island and the Gapyeong mainland (?)
whenever you want.
Jiwoo Resort in Gapyeong
is just about a 5-minute walk from the Nami Island wharf.
To be honest,
when I came for the Air House festival last year, my accommodation was so far away
that I had a really tough time...
So this time, I wanted somewhere perfect for hitting up Air House—
a hotel/stay right in front of the Nami Island wharf. And the place I booked is...
Right here!

Since I planned ahead for this year's Air House,
I successfully booked a spot at Nami Island Jiwoo House!

The Rooms The Rooms
Gapyeong's Nami Island stay, Jiwoo Resort...
The exterior was so much more beautiful than I expected!
It kind of gives off Santorini, Greece vibes...
And the room interior was actually pretty decent, too!
Each building represents one block/villa,
and the Jiwoo House room I booked was in either Block 14 or 15.
In each Jiwoo House block, there are separate entrances for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-floor rooms accessible via external stairs.
When you arrive, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how impressive the Gapyeong Jiwoo House buildings actually look...
You can check in on the first floor of the building right in front of you.
But when checking in, they only gave us one card key.
So we had to use a paper card
slotted into the power holder to keep the room active.
Since most people visiting Gapyeong Nami Island Jiwoo House
are families or couples,
it probably wouldn't bother them too much.
(But since I was there to enjoy Air House,
my friend and I had to go in and out separately,
which made it a bit inconvenient! 😅)

This is what the duplex-style room looks like.
The bedroom on the second floor looks so cozy and comforting...
And this is what the first floor of Gapyeong Jiwoo Resort looks like.
There's actually a bathtub booth right by the veranda!!!
And of course, there's a separate shower in the bathroom too.
Towels and basic amenities are stocked inside.
But...
One slight disappointment given the price point at Gapyeong Jiwoo Resort was...
No toothbrush or toothpaste provided,
And even though it's not a cheap stay, costing around ~$128 to ~$192 a night,
for a room here...
Water...
There isn't even a single complimentary bottle of water provided...
Still, every single room at Jiwoo Resort comes with a terrace,
and the absolutely stunning Gapyeong river view from the balcony
is more than enough
to make up for all the minor downsides.
The room I stayed in at Jiwoo Resort was their most basic option,
which has a partition like this
separating the bed, a dining table, and a small kitchenette where you can cook.
Being able to cook is a huge plus!!!
It's perfect if you're traveling to Gapyeong or Nami Island with kids,
and great for families too.
Plus, the terrace with that gorgeous view is quite spacious.
It would be amazing to have a couple of drinks out there at night while looking over the Nami Island river view.
But since Jiwoo Resort is right by the river,
there are tons of bugs!
Make sure you keep the terrace screen doors tightly closed.
You can request extra bedding
for an additional fee of about ~$13 to ~$19.
The room I stayed in had this exact layout—
a bed, partition, dining table & kitchenette, a sofa, a whirlpool tub, and a terrace.
If you go without super high luxury expectations,
it's actually an amazing place to stay!
Since Gapyeong doesn't have a ton of premium accommodation options, this level of quality
was highly satisfying.
Besides, you don't come here expecting a 5-star luxury hotel—
it's meant to be a cozy base for exploring Gapyeong and Nami Island, so it was perfect...
Jiwoo Resort also provides
a rice cooker and a refrigerator.
(Just make sure to buy bottled water at a convenience store!)
The bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower booth—
just your typical, compact bathroom layout.
- Pool & Amenities
Honestly, Jiwoo Resort might be the absolute easiest place to stay
if you want to enjoy water sports in Gapyeong.
It connects directly to a Gapyeong "bbaji" (water sports barge) facility right out front.
Of course, I didn't go myself.
Mainly because partying at The Air House was already taking up all my energy!

Prices start in the ~$128 to ~$192 range,
and while some of the larger rooms feature an in-room swimming pool (right in the bathroom),
that wasn't really my vibe...
So I'd highly recommend booking either a basic room or one of the 2-story rooms instead.

After heading to The Air House festival
and partying until dawn, we caught up on some sleep, woke up,
and had some Jajang-beombeok (black bean cup noodles) on the terrace of W Jiwoo Resort.
(The sun was beating down a little, but)
those noodles tasted absolutely heavenly...
The river and mountain views stretching out in front of us were so gorgeous—we felt like peaceful hermits living in paradise.
