Planning a trip to Udo Island? Discover if the Udo Tour Pass is worth it with my honest review, covering prices, usage, and essential tips for 2026.
I recently visited Udo Island and absolutely maximized the Udo Tour Pass. It was a game-changer for my trip!
I enjoyed four free coffees and got free entry to attractions – the pass literally paid for itself multiple times over.
But before I dive into the details, here’s a crucial tip:
If you're planning a trip to Udo, aim for April or May.
I visited in the summer of 2026, and while Udo Island is undeniably beautiful, the scorching heat made it tough to stay outdoors for long. I'd find myself marveling at the stunning ocean colors, only to quickly retreat to a cafe for some air conditioning. I wanted to stroll along the beaches, but the humidity and sweat quickly put an end to that.
If you go in spring, you can truly savor the coastal roads, enjoy a leisurely coffee on a cafe terrace with a gentle breeze, and explore the Hundertwasser Garden at your own pace. Trust me, it makes a huge difference!
What Exactly is the Udo Tour Pass?
It’s a bundled pass offering freebies or discounts at various cafes, restaurants, and experience venues across Udo Island.
With this single pass, you can scan a barcode at participating cafes for free americanos or ades, and even get free admission to certain attractions. I popped into several cafes during my visit, and each time, my drink was complimentary. It paid for itself almost instantly!
Pricing
The Udo Tour Pass comes in two options: a 12-hour pass and a 24-hour pass. The timer starts from your first use.
12-Hour Pass: Adult ~$8 / Youth ~$7 / Child ~$7
24-Hour Pass: Adult ~$10 / Youth ~$9 / Child ~$9
Integrated Pass (12-hour + Round-trip Ferry + Udo Submarine): Adult ~$32 / Youth ~$29 / Child ~$26
If you're just doing a half-day trip, the 12-hour pass is plenty. But if you plan to include the submarine tour, the Integrated Pass offers much better value. You can use the pass within 60 days of purchase, but remember, once you use it at even one location, it becomes non-refundable.

I purchased my pass through MyRealTrip. They offered boat discounts, which made it the best option for me. Just a heads-up: boat tours might be canceled if the waves are too high, even on a sunny day, so always check the conditions!

How to Get There by Ferry (Don't Miss This!)
Departure: Seongsan Port Passenger Terminal
First Ferry: 7:00 AM (7:30 AM in winter)
Last Ferry: 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM (subject to change based on weather)
Frequency: Approximately every 30 minutes
⚠️ You absolutely MUST have your ID. Without it, you won't be allowed to board. You'll need to fill out a boarding declaration form: two copies for general travelers, but three copies if you’re using the Udo Pass.
Also, note that there are different ticket counters. If you're using the Udo Pass, you need to go to the Yacht & Submarine ticket office, not the general ferry ticket office. Knowing this will save you from waiting in the wrong line!

Can I Bring a Rental Car to Udo?
No, you generally cannot.
Due to a vehicle quota system, most rental cars are not permitted on the island. Exceptions are made only if you are traveling with a passenger who is considered mobility-impaired, such as children under 6 years old, adults over 65, or pregnant women. Jeju residents can bring their cars, but there’s an additional fee, and if you're using the pass, you'll need to get your pass ticket first, then pay for your vehicle's departure separately at a different counter.
Honestly, the best way to explore Udo is by renting an electric car or electric bicycle and cruising along the coastal road. That feeling of driving right next to the ocean is truly a unique Udo experience!

My Actual Udo Itinerary
A half-day was plenty for me, and I rented an electric vehicle to follow the coastal road.
1️⃣ Geommeolle Beach → Dalgrarian Cafe
The view from the stairs leading down to Geommeolle Beach is absolutely breathtaking. Below the cliffs of Udobong Peak, a black sand beach stretches out, and the ocean color from above looks truly surreal. Once you're on the beach, you'll find Dongangyeonggul Cave, a sea cave that’s perfect for photos – the atmosphere feels straight out of a movie.
Right next door is Dalgrarian Cafe. The panoramic view of Geommeolle Beach through its floor-to-ceiling windows is incredible. With the Udo Pass, I got a free americano. If you want a different menu item, you get a ~$1 discount. Definitely try the peanut ice cream! It’s their signature, and it’s delicious.
2️⃣ Hundertwasser Park
This is a theme park dedicated to the Austrian artist Hundertwasser. All the buildings feature curved lines and vibrant colors, making you feel like you’ve stepped into another country the moment you enter. You can see print artworks in the museum and enjoy views of Udo Beach and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak from the rooftop garden. The garden also has "tree tenants" – trees planted within and around the buildings – which are fun to discover. I took so many photos here; if you love Instagram-worthy spots, time will fly by! The Udo Pass grants you free admission here, which alone makes the pass worth it.
3️⃣ Hamokdong Port Beach → Udo Sand & Udo Woo Bakery
This is the famous emerald-colored beach. It’s a coral sand beach, so the sand feels like coral powder, and the water color is truly reminiscent of Saipan. The water is shallow, so many people were swimming, and just sitting on the beach admiring the ocean was incredibly relaxing. After enjoying the beach, I did a little cafe hopping nearby.

Udo Woo Bakery → Free americano with the pass. This place is famous for its peanut bread ice cream.
Even without the pass, you can still get a ~$1 discount at each of these places.

Note that you cannot use the pass multiple times at the same establishment. A list of participating venues will be available when you receive your barcode. This list can change frequently, so it’s a good idea to double-check before your visit.
Udo is genuinely a special place, even within Jeju. The ocean colors are different, and the atmosphere is unique. Despite being a small island, it boasts so many charming cafes and attractions.
I was so satisfied with my summer visit, I can only imagine how incredible it would be in the spring. Imagine leisurely beach walks, unhurried garden tours, and enjoying coffee on a terrace with a refreshing breeze.
