If you're visiting Jeju Udo,
you absolutely have to try the Udo Peanut Ice Cream!
I looked around quite a bit, and since I was going to try it anyway,
I decided to visit Udo Wangja Iyagi,
known as the original spot for Udo Peanut Ice Cream.
What's more, the location was absolutely perfect.
It's right in front of Geommeolle Beach,
so you can grab an ice cream and
enjoy it with a stunning ocean view! Haha!

I tried both the peanut ice cream and the Hallabong (Jeju tangerine) ice cream,
plus the newly released Udo peanut bread.
To get straight to the point: if it's your first visit,
definitely try both the peanut and Hallabong ice cream.
The flavors are distinctly different, more so than I expected,
so it was hard to choose just one :)

1. The Original Udo Peanut Ice Cream

Udo has so many
peanut ice cream shops, but
the one I sought out was Udo Wangja Iyagi.

This place is super famous, having appeared on almost every major broadcast like
'2 Days & 1 Night,' 'Battle Trip,' 'Radio Star,' 'My Little Old Boy,' 'Same Bed, Different Dreams,' and more –
it's truly the original spot for Udo peanut ice cream!

Even on a weekday afternoon, there were so many people!
But luckily, there are tables inside the store,
so you can sit and enjoy your treat, cool in summer and warm in winter.

Looking at the walls, they were filled with celebrity autographs and photos,
including Young Tak! It seems the owner is a big fan of Lim Young Woong, haha.
Plus one for the fun of celebrity spotting!

Udo Peanut Ice Cream ~$4
What made this place truly delicious was that
the soft-serve ice cream itself isn't just your standard vanilla;
it's made with their own unique recipe,
and you can really taste the difference in freshness!

They blend Udo peanuts into the ice cream itself,
and then on top, they generously pile
roasted Udo peanuts as a topping.
Especially since Udo's specialty peanuts cost about ~$7 for a handful,
they really load them on like this,
giving you a rich, nutty flavor with every bite!

Many places unscrupulously mix in imported peanuts,
but true to its original status, this spot doesn't mix in imported peanuts,
uses 100% Udo peanuts, and roasts them fresh right in the store.
When I actually tasted it, the sweet soft-serve combined with
the continuous crunch of savory peanuts made me realize,
'Ah, the original really is different!' Haha.
2. Sweet and Tangy Hallabong Ice Cream

Hallabong Ice Cream ~$4
Honestly, the Hallabong flavor surprisingly left an even bigger impression on me!
I initially thought it would just be a standard vanilla soft-serve with some Hallabong sauce drizzled on top,
but boy, was I wrong.

It's yogurt-based, so it's refreshingly tangy from the very first bite,
and with a generous dollop of homemade Hallabong puree on top,
you truly get that rich, sweet, and zesty fruit flavor.
Seriously, that Hallabong puree was out of this world..!

Turns out, this Hallabong ice cream
is also a patented menu item.
If you find the rich, nutty flavor of the peanut ice cream a bit too much,
then this one might just be more your style.
This is a truly unique flavor you won't find anywhere else on Udo or even Jeju —
it's a whole new world of taste, so you absolutely have to try it!
If you're visiting with a friend, I highly recommend getting one peanut and one Hallabong ice cream
to share – it’s the perfect combo! 😉
3. Introducing the New Udo Peanut Bread!

And this time, I also tried the newly launched
Udo Peanut Bread, priced at ~$4!

Watching them make it, they pour the batter into peanut-shaped molds
and bake each one individually.
And guess what? Real Udo peanuts are tucked right inside the bread!

This isn't just some peanut-flavored bread
you might find everywhere.
When you take a bite, you actually crunch into whole peanuts,
giving it an unmistakably rich, nutty flavor.

The outside is beautifully golden-brown and slightly crisp,
while the inside is wonderfully soft.
It's the kind of snack you just can't stop popping into your mouth!

You get 20 pieces for ~$4, making them perfect for sharing
alongside your ice cream! 😉

The store also sells bags of Udo peanuts separately for ~$7 each,
so they make a fantastic souvenir to remember your trip!
4. Discover Geommeolle Beach, a Must-Visit on Jeju's Udo Island!

Another reason why Udo Wangja Story truly won me over
was, undoubtedly, its incredible location!
Right in front, Geommeolle Beach and the Udo sea stretch out expansively,
so as soon as you grab your ice cream and step outside,
you're immediately immersed in the quintessential stunning scenery of Jeju!

I couldn't resist getting my own photo with ice cream against the ocean, and let me tell you, that vibrant blue sea made the pictures turn out absolutely gorgeous!

With incredible views of Udobong Peak, this spot is perfect for combining your Geommeolle Beach exploration with a delightful Udo Peanut Ice Cream treat.
Plus, they serve coffee, so it’s a wonderful place to pause and recharge during your adventures!
Americano HOT ~$2 / ICE ~$3

If you're wondering where to get peanut ice cream on Udo, don't look any further – try it at the original Udo Wangja Iyagi!
Personally, if it's your first time, the peanut ice cream is an absolute must!
And if you love a refreshing dessert, I highly recommend ordering a Hallabong (Jeju tangerine) along with it :)
