I visited Udo Island for the very first time in my life!
Taking the ferry to Udo was incredibly fun, and the Cat Captain Restaurant,
a must-visit spot on Jeju's Udo Island that I explored,
had consistently excellent food,
which made my memories of Udo even more special.
The first dining spot we visited right after arriving on Udo Island was
the Cat Captain Restaurant.
Donkatsu, Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and Fried Rice.
There were four of us, and we ordered four different dishes.
The portions were so generous, we even had a little leftover, and the taste was fantastic,
so our satisfaction was really high.
The seasoning was mild overall,
making it a great spot to visit if you're exploring Jeju's Udo Island with a baby.

The Cat Captain Restaurant I recently visited
is a newly opened, trendy spot in Udo,
and it's already so popular as a must-try Jeju Udo restaurant that it was packed even on a weekday.
You can find it by searching 130-9 Udo Coastal Road, Udo-myeon, Jeju-si
on your navigation system.
Parking was available right in front of the restaurant,
and the spaces were wide, which made it super convenient and pleasant.
Right in front of Cat Captain Restaurant,
no matter where or how you look, it's all ocean views.
Being able to enjoy our meal with such a stunning ocean view
made the dining experience even more delightful! =)
2. Interior Space
The interior space was incredibly neat and clean.
From the moment you step in, there are several 6-person tables
set up with generous spacing, so it looked like
it would be perfectly suitable for accommodating large groups.
What's more, through the full-length windows at the front,
we could still enjoy the stunning ocean view we saw at the entrance,
even while we were dining.
Venturing further inside,
there were enough 4-person tables to easily accommodate 50 people simultaneously.
We arrived right when they opened,
and already the interior was filling up with customers.

Although they aren't listed on the menu,
you can also order them as individual dishes, not just sets.
And they serve generous portions too! =)
After finishing our meal at Cat Captain Restaurant,
we also got to try Jeju premium sorbet ice cream,
and although it's not in the picture, Jeju fruit drinks as well.
We got to taste them.
4. Review
Just looking at the photos makes your mouth water!
Cat Captain Restaurant, where we had a delicious brunch.
I ordered the Jjajangmyeon + Tangsuyuk, Fried Rice + Tangsuyuk,
along with Seafood Jjamppong and Donkatsu.
Seafood Jjamppong
The Seafood Jjamppong came piled high with seafood, almost like a mountain!
The broth, made with perfectly prepared chili oil, was absolutely incredible.
It wasn't too spicy, overly seasoned, or intensely hot,
so it seems perfect for families with young children
to order as an accompanying dish.
Abalone, various seafood, squid, blue crab, squid, and more –
they didn't hold back, adding a generous amount of seafood.
It made me curious enough to wonder about their other menu item, the Chicken Jjamppong.
As I was leaving, I asked about the Chicken Jjamppong, and they said
that the broth is made by simmering chicken bones and meat for a long time,
and that the broth has no unpleasant odors at all,
being both savory and rich.
Fried Rice + Tangsuyuk
There were many families dining there when I visited,
and if you're with children who can't handle spicy food,
I'd highly recommend the Fried Rice + Tangsuyuk menu.
It contains a generous amount of shrimp,
and the vegetables are finely diced,
so parents with babies can order it
for their children without any worries.
About 5 pieces of glutinous rice tangsuyuk also came with it,
and they were so delicious I couldn't stop eating them.
The Donkatsu individual dish also had a great composition.
They provided several sauces, including salt and wasabi,
which made it enjoyable to switch things up and savor every bite until the end.
It's an original Donkatsu that anyone can deliciously enjoy, regardless of their preferences,
and I really liked that.
Jjajangmyeon
The Jjajangmyeon at Cat Captain Restaurant was brought to us perfectly,
with not a single noodle soggy.
Not only were there plenty of noodles, but also lots of ingredients to enjoy with them,
which even made me think it would be great with rice.
This menu item is also one you can order even if you come with children,
making me feel that it's an excellent Udo restaurant in Jeju
for family visitors.
Chewy Sweet and Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk)
The unforgettable Chewy Sweet and Sour Pork (Tangsuyuk)
It was seriously, incredibly, ridiculously delicious!
So wonderfully chewy and tender!!
And even better, they didn't serve it 'bu-meok' style (with the sauce poured directly over),
—which, as a proud 'jjik-meok' loyalist myself,
meant I got to enjoy every single delicious bite until the very end!

Even though it's a relatively new restaurant on Udo Island (Jeju),
there's definitely a reason why so many people are flocking to it!

Cat Captain Restaurant operates daily from 11 AM to 5 PM, with the last order taken at 4 PM. We are closed if ferry services are suspended due to a strong wind warning.
Our main menu items include Jajangmyeon with Tangsu-yuk, Fried Rice with Tangsu-yuk, Seafood Jjamppong, Chicken Jjamppong, Donkatsu, and Tangsu-yuk. All menu items are ~$12, and you can order individual dishes in addition to the set menus.
Cat Captain Restaurant generally uses mild seasoning, making it a great place to visit with a baby. The Fried Rice with Tangsu-yuk is highly recommended for children, as it contains plenty of shrimp and finely chopped vegetables. Seafood Jjamppong and Jajangmyeon are also not too spicy or strong, making them suitable for sharing with your baby.
