With a record-breaking heatwave hitting us, I decided to visit a nearby spot to beat the summer heat.
So, I headed to Ttukseom Han River Pool!
Even though I went on a weekday,
it was pretty crowded.

After having a blast for about half a day,
I'll share all the essential items and insider tips I learned,
all in one place!

📍 Ttukseom Han River Park Pool
112 Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul

I visited by subway, and it was super easy!
Just come out of Exit 2 of Jayang Station,
walk for about 5 minutes, and you're there.
Even with the scorching heat, it was a perfectly manageable walk.
What to Bring & Insider Tips!

The admission fee is quite affordable, but I realized you might end up spending a fair bit if you don't bring your own essentials?!
To enjoy the Han River Pool without breaking the bank,
here are 5 must-have items you absolutely need!

If you're planning to enjoy the lazy river too,
✔ Tube
✔ Life vest
They're a must-have!
While rentals are available,
these are items you can use for a long time after just one purchase,
so I highly recommend buying them in advance and bringing them with you.
✔ Aqua shoes
✔ Towel
✔ Mat/Picnic mat
There was some trash scattered around, which could pose a risk of injury, so aqua shoes would be a great idea.
You'll also want a towel to dry off after showering,
and a mat or picnic blanket to relax under the parasols!
If you prepare all these in advance, your pool day will be even more enjoyable.
So, What Was a Weekday Splash Like?

Even though I visited on a weekday, it was summer vacation, so there were a lot of teenagers,
and I was also surprised to see quite a few foreign tourists!

Both the main pool and the lazy river were quite busy, but the facility itself is so spacious that it never felt overly crowded or confined.

One minor drawback, though, was that perhaps because the weather was so incredibly hot,
the water felt lukewarm rather than refreshingly cool.
It seemed the water warmed up quickly in the middle of summer.

The water quality wasn't as pristine as a water park either,
so if you're particularly sensitive,
I recommend knowing this before your visit.

Nevertheless, the fact that you can enjoy a lazy river and
a large swimming pool right in the heart of Seoul for just ~$3 per adult
was a huge plus.
It was a perfectly satisfying spot to casually soak up the summer vibes
without having to travel all the way to a distant water park.
Shower Facilities Review

Outdoor showers are available between the men's and women's changing rooms.
It was only suitable for a quick rinse, and since shampoo or body wash aren't provided,
I recommend bringing your own towel and toiletries.

During break times, there can be many users,
so you might have to wait.
If you don't like waiting,
a great tip is to come out about 5 minutes early and shower.
Food Options: From Han River Ramyeon to Slushies

How to double your fun at Ttukseom Han River Pool!

It's all about the delicious and diverse food options!
When you're swimming and playing in the water, you quickly get hungry, right?

First off, food packaged in disposable containers is not allowed.
I packed watermelon and gimbap in reusable containers, but I worried they might spoil because of the hot weather.

The snack bar sells a variety of items, from Han River Ramyeon, Tteokbokki, chicken skewers, chicken,
sausages, and various snacks, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable, making it perfect for a quick bite while enjoying the water.
Ttukseom Han River Pool: Overall Review

Ttukseom Han River Pool was a quintessential Seoul summer hotspot where you could enjoy water fun all day for the low price of ~$3 per adult.

The lazy river, in particular, was a huge hit,
making it a great place to visit with family, friends, or even your significant other.
However, buying necessities on-site can be more expensive than you might expect,
so I recommend preparing your own swimming gear like tubes, life vests, and waterproof pouches in advance.

A little preparation goes a long way in making your visit much more comfortable and enjoyable!
You're all set for some fantastic water fun!
Ttukseom Hangang Outdoor Swimming Pool will operate from June 19 to August 30, 2026, from 9 AM to 10 PM. There are break times from 12 PM to 1 PM and from 6 PM to 7 PM. The adult admission fee is ~$3.
It's convenient to use public transportation as you can reach it by walking for about 5 minutes from Exit 2 of Jayang Station (Subway). While parking spaces might occasionally be available on weekdays, it's reportedly difficult to find parking on weekends, so public transportation is recommended.
When using the lazy river, tubes and life vests are mandatory. Aqua shoes are also recommended to prevent injuries from potential debris. It's a good idea to bring a towel to dry off after showering and a mat to relax under a parasol.
During mid-summer, due to the hot weather, the water might feel lukewarm rather than cool. The water quality is also not as pristine as a water park, so it's good to keep this in mind beforehand.
