I heard there's a cartoon-themed park on Jeju Island called "Theme Park Toon,"
a dedicated webtoon and cartoon theme park.
So, the two of us (adults) went there thinking we'd just do a quick, casual walk-through—
but we actually ended up running out of time!
Once we stepped inside, snapped some photos,
and tried out the interactive experiences one by one, we had so much fun.
Honestly, lately, after visiting a few media art exhibitions,
they all started to feel the same and a bit repetitive,
but here, we had an amazing time with absolutely zero dull moments.

Cartoon Theme + Interactive Exhibits + Night Market Collaboration
With these three key highlights, Theme Park Toon definitely stands out.
I highly recommend adding this to your list if you're planning a family trip to Jeju Island.

It's located right next to the Arboretum Night Market,
so dedicating a whole afternoon to exploring the park and then wrapping up your evening
at the night market would make for a perfect half-day plan!

Transform into a Cartoon Protagonist: AI Experience

The most memorable thing on the first floor was the
AI experience that transforms your photo into a cartoon style, making you look like the main character!
Just snap a photo in front of the screen, and after a short wait, your face and outfit will be transformed into a cartoon style and projected right onto the wall.

It's completely free to use,
and since each machine has a different art style
and projects to a different spot, we spent quite a while playing around with them.
Instead of just passively viewing art, you get to actively participate and create something, which made the experience super engaging right from the start.

Quick Tip: It takes about a minute for your photo to appear
on the wall after taking it, so please be patient.
(You can take a quick peek at the next room while you wait!)
If you love 'Animal Buddies' (Jimseung Friends), get your camera ready!

Theme Park Toon features a wide variety of
themes and characters.
From kids' favorites like Bread Barbershop, to nostalgic classics like Meoteol Dosa and Black Rubber Shoes, and even modern webtoons,
it was amazing to see cartoons across multiple generations all in one place.

Spotting characters you already know is incredibly exciting, and even for the ones you aren't familiar with, the beautifully designed spaces make it so much fun to explore.
Since my husband and I used to watch Animal Buddies (Jimseung Friends)
together when we first started dating, we ended up taking
the most photos in the dedicated Animal Buddies zone!

The character statues were much larger than I expected, and with photo zones scattered everywhere, you can get amazing shots just by standing right next to them!
3rd Floor: Artist Exhibition, Photo Box, Interactive Experience, Character Motion Capture, XR Experience Zone

The recommended route is to head straight from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor first.

As you browse through the Black Rubber Shoes artist exhibition,
and make your way further into the 3rd floor, you'll find the XR Experience Zone.

The XR ride is the only experience here that requires an additional fee, and you can select your own theme.
Bread Barbershop: ~$4
Animal Friends: ~$4
They're currently running a review event for 1 free ticket,
so make sure to participate and hop on for free! 👀
Watch the characters come to life on screen!
✍🏼 Draw & Show & Character Motion Capture

🌱 Draw & Show: Interactive Experience
Pick your favorite character on the screen,
color it in, and hit send! Your very own customized character
will pop up and walk around right on the wall.

If you're visiting with kids, they're going to absolutely love this,
and you'll likely end up spending quite a bit of time here.
🌱 Avatar On: Character Motion Capture
The character tracks your movements and copies your every move.

With so many other themed zones and photo spots,
the 3rd floor is definitely where you'll spend the most time.

I thought we'd just walk right past, but as we saw each activity, we couldn't resist giving them a try. Aside from the XR, we did almost every single
experience, and it was so much fun!
Once you're done, head down from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor.
2nd Floor: Character Matching, Mirror Photo Zone, Gachapon Shop,
Souvenir Store, Toon Lounge Cafe

From Character Matching to Photo Zones and Punching Games!

The floor with the cafe has way more than just a gift shop—it also features gachapon machines, mirror exhibits, an MBTI experience (custom t-shirt making), and fun little activities like a punching bag game.
The King Kong photo zone was surprisingly realistic and a bit spooky,
but the quality was fantastic!

My husband literally punched his watch right off while playing the punching game!

With so much to see and do, I totally get why people end up
spending way more time here than at a standard, simple exhibition.
Don't skip the souvenir shop and cafe!

Although the cafe was open, we didn't spot any staff when we stopped by, so we just snapped a few photos of the interior and headed out.

Top Insider Tips
Tip 1: Arrive Right at Opening Time

We arrived right at 9:00 AM, just as the doors opened.
Since it was practically empty at first, we could enjoy all the interactive zones and take photos to our heart's content without any rush.
After a little while, other families on their Jeju trips started trickling in with their kids.
Tip 2: Take Advantage of Naver Pay and Review Promos
At the souvenir shop, we picked up a cute Jeju squishy toy, Udo peanut-flavored Diget cookies, and some cat-themed souvenirs.

During our visit, they were running a promo where spending over ~$6 with Naver Pay got you ~$3 back in Naver Pay points. You could redeem this up to 6 times during the event period, so we basically got most of our souvenirs at half price!

From making custom patches and DIY t-shirts to buying adorable souvenirs,
if you're visiting with kids, you'll definitely find yourself reaching for your wallet—so keeping an eye out for these local payment discounts is a huge lifesaver!
How About Pairing This with Sumokwon-gil Night Market?

Theme Park Toon is completely indoors, making it the perfect escape
when it rains or during the scorching summer heat.
It's located right in Jeju City, not far from Jeju International Airport,
and it's right next to the famous Sumokwon-gil Night Market. If you time it right, you can easily visit both in one go!
I highly recommend planning a day where you enjoy the interactive fun at Theme Park Toon in the afternoon and head over to the night market for delicious street food in the evening.
How Much Time Should You Budget?
If you just breeze through to snap some photos,
you could probably finish in about an hour.
But honestly, you'd be missing out on half the fun!
We didn't even do the XR experiences or visit the cafe, and we still spent a solid hour and a half here.
If you visit during peak hours, factor in waiting times, or plan to enjoy the cafe and full interactive experiences,
I'd suggest budgeting a bit more time to explore comfortably.

My Honest Verdict? ❓
At first, I thought it would just be a simple, cartoon-themed exhibition hall.
But it turned out to be so much more interactive and fun than I expected!
There's already so much to see and do,
and if they continue to add more cartoon and webtoon IPs in the future,
this place will definitely remain a beloved, go-to destination
for families and couples for a long time.

If you're looking for a media art exhibition in Jeju, skip the passive galleries
and check out this amazing, hands-on interactive space that's perfect for a Jeju family getaway!
The admission fee is ~$12 for adults, ~$10 for teenagers, and ~$8 for children. To use the XR experience located on the 3rd floor, you need to pay an additional ~$4 on top of the admission ticket.
You can conveniently park at either the Sumokwon-gil Night Market parking lot or the Theme Park Toon parking lot. A parking ticket is automatically issued when you print your Theme Park Toon admission ticket.
After taking a picture in front of the screen, you need to wait for about 1 minute before the comic-style result is displayed on the wall. It is a good idea to briefly browse the room next door while you wait.
There is an ongoing promotion where you can earn ~$3 in Naver Pay points when you spend ~$6 or more using Naver Pay. You can participate up to 6 times during the event period, allowing you to purchase souvenirs at a lower price.
It took about 1 hour and 30 minutes in total when touring without using the XR experience and the cafe. It is recommended to allocate more time if you plan to visit the cafe or on weekends when there might be a waiting line for experiences due to large crowds.
