Tea Therapy Anguk Review: A Hidden Gem for Weekday Lunch
Strolling through Bukchon, I stumbled upon Tea Therapy Anguk. What seemed like a traditional tea house surprised me with an incredibly delicious weekday-only lunch menu!

Wandering around Bukchon,
I stumbled upon
Anguk's lunch gem, **Tea Therapy**!
I initially thought it was a traditional tea house selling only tea,
but surprisingly, their meal menu
was also incredibly delicious!
This is my honest review, paid for with my own money! 😋

Waiting

To be honest, first off,
there's a
Michelin-starred restaurant nearby called **Anam**, so
I had already put my name down for a table there.
But on this particular day, Anam's waiting list
was incredibly long, even for a weekday! 🤣
At 10:40 AM,
I joined the 'Tabling' waitlist, but
I was in the 52nd spot... so I gave up and
was looking for another Anguk lunch spot.
Then, as I was walking by,
I caught a whiff of absolutely delicious Japanese curry, so I thought,
**'Oh? What's this place?'** and
checked out the menu.

Seeing the name **Tea Therapy**,
it seemed like it was originally a tea house,
but they were offering
meal options exclusively for weekday lunch.
As I'm sure many of you can relate,
the idea of a 'limited edition' experience,
something you can **only do here, right now**,
always sparks curiosity, doesn't it?
"Let's go here today!"
I made a quick decision.

But once I stepped inside,
I was pleasantly surprised by how
charming and beautiful the atmosphere was!
It seemed like a hidden gem because
there were more people than I expected.

Writing my name on the waitlist by hand like this
felt nostalgic and special.
I visited around **12 PM on a weekday**,
and there were only about 2 groups ahead of me,
so I figured it was worth the wait and
started waiting!

After signing the waitlist,
you step outside and can wait briefly
in the foot bath area or
on a small bench until your name is called.
I think I waited for about **10 minutes**!

Following the guide inside,
I found there were more seats further in,
making the space much larger than it appeared from outside.

Bukchon is known for having many atmospheric
Anguk lunch spots, but
this one truly had a wonderful ambiance!

Weekday Lunch Menu

Now, let's take a closer look at
Tea Therapy's **limited-edition lunch menu**, which you can only enjoy on weekday afternoons!
Let's dive in!
Honestly, what really captivated my sense of smell was probably
the Beef Bean Curry.
Everything looked so delicious, so after a lot of deliberation,
I decided to order the Grilled Salmon Donburi with Green Salad.
The price was ~$9.

What I loved about Teatherapy was that their lunch menu
includes the 'Tea of the Day'!

Today's tea was a blend of Dangui (Korean Angelica) and Jujube,
and you could freely refill water, iced tea, and hot tea –
all three options! :)

While sipping on the warm tea,
I only waited about 5 minutes after ordering before
my meal arrived!
This beautifully presented set meal was a delight just to look at 😌

With today's prices,
for ~$9,
isn't this quality of lunch absolutely superb?
And it even includes unlimited refills of the Tea of the Day..!
Turns out, even the pickles were all
handmade right there.

Especially with the Grilled Salmon Donburi,
it wasn't just salmon!
There were grilled King Oyster mushrooms, and
even braised onions beneath the salmon,
which made it truly delicious!

The Miso Soup tasted exactly like a clean, Japanese-style miso soup,
but the ingredients inside gave it that warm, familiar Korean feel?!
As you can see from the photos,
it was generously packed with tofu, Korean zucchini, onions, and more,
making it a complete 'rice thief' – so delicious you can't stop eating rice with it!

The salad quality was also incredible..✨
When it said 'Green Salad' on the menu,
I honestly just expected a super simple vegetable salad
made with just romaine or cabbage, you know?
But it came with broccoli, cucumber, nuts, olives, AND
even strawberries and persimmons (!), so the
toppings were incredibly generous – I was genuinely surprised!

The braised onions layered under the salmon, especially,
truly felt like a stroke of genius with every bite..!
Eating the onions and salmon over rice,
combined with the salad and warm soup, the
balance was simply perfect.

After finishing such a truly satisfying lunch,
I took another leisurely look around the store and noticed
they also sell their teas directly.
It gave me the feeling that normally this place specializes in tea,
and I was just lucky enough to catch a weekday lunch opportunity!

Even during my short lunch break,
many regulars came in, so
We were warmly greeted,
and the staff were all so incredibly kind and
worked with such cheerful energy that
while dining,
the warm atmosphere
genuinely lifted my spirits! :)
Teatherapy, a true gem for lunch in Anguk,
is a place I'd absolutely 10000% want to revisit
with my parents!
