Its prime location makes it perfect for those exploring on foot, and if you're driving, the 90 minutes of free parking in the building is a huge plus!

2. Interior & Booking Your Table at Sympathetic Cusi Seongsu
Honestly, Sympathetic Cusi wasn't our initial plan for the day. Our first choice couldn't accommodate a group of seven, and the thought of an 'open run' (rushing to be first in line) with such a large party seemed daunting.
While searching for places that accepted reservations, I remembered hearing about Sympathetic Cusi and decided to give it a try!

We managed to snag a reservation just an hour before our arrival! I think the generous seating capacity made it possible.

Sympathetic Cusi Seongsu boasts a wonderfully spacious interior with plenty of tables and seating options. While not pictured, there were also partitioned sections perfect for larger groups of 8-10 people.
The high ceilings truly give the space an open and airy feel, which I absolutely loved!♡
3. Sympathetic Cusi Menu Recommendations

Sympathetic Cusi, a true Seoul Forest gem, offers an incredibly extensive and diverse menu. Thankfully, to help with decision fatigue, they have well-curated 2-4 person sets and premium sets.
Our group ordered the Sympathetic Cusi 4-person set, plus an additional small plate and an extra gnocchi dish. (Honestly, so much food came out, I can barely remember the exact additions! 😂)
Sympathetic Cusi Menu Recommendations
For those feeling overwhelmed by choices, here are my top 3 recommendations:
Perilla Oil Mayo Napa Cabbage Salad
Chili Oil Mentaiko Cream Pasta OR Brisket Bracken Pasta
Gnocchi Gratin
4. My Honest Review of Sympathetic Cusi (Paid for by Me!)

First to arrive were the salad and french fries.

Everyone was curious about the Perilla Oil Mayo Napa Cabbage Salad. Opinions were split: some believed the perilla oil and cabbage combo couldn't possibly be bad, while others thought it would just be a familiar taste.🤣🤣🤣
While the perilla oil did give it a familiar, nutty flavor, the mayonnaise and nut toppings were the real game-changers! The rich nuttiness combined with the crisp crunch successfully whetted our appetites.♡

Next up was Sympathetic Cusi's Chili Oil Mentaiko Cream Pasta. We pretty much ordered anything marked as a signature dish!
It was truly, truly delicious, but for my taste, it was a tad on the salty side, which definitely called for a cold beer.😂

Even though the dishes were served quickly, we couldn't wait! We dished out and dug in as soon as they arrived.

The Beef Ragu Tteokbokki was ordered purely out of curiosity. It was a fairly standard tteokbokki topped with ragu sauce, but I can't quite recall if that white dollop was sour cream or ricotta cheese... either way, it was an interesting new combination!

Another standout dish at Sympathetic Cusi was the Brisket Bracken Pasta. The combination of perilla oil cream sauce and bracken created a wonderfully aromatic and flavorful dish.♡

We also tried the Grilled Beef Short Rib Risotto and the Gnocchi Gratin. The gnocchi had a larger size, which made them even chewier and more satisfying. The short rib risotto was decent, and the accompanying wild greens (chamnamul) served as a refreshing, pickle-like counterpoint.

Finally, we had the Red Curry Chicken Thigh Steak. We ordered this because there weren't many other meat options, and it was a perfectly adequate dish. The accompanying mashed potatoes were a nice touch!♡
Since we were a large group, it was wonderful to be able to order and try so many different dishes!
And that concludes my honest, personally-paid-for review of Sympathetic Cusi Seongsu, a true Seoul Forest dining destination! ♡
