with my Sungsimdang bread recommendations, brought to you by a 2-year Daejeon local!

Today, we're diving into everything from the 2026 Sungsimdang Hall of Fame

to sandwiches, Twigim Soboro (fried soboro bread), and other varieties.

I'll break down the best bread recommendations with their prices,

and even the exclusive best menus at Lotte Department Store,

1. 2026 Sungsimdang Hall of Fame

The criteria for the Sungsimdang Hall of Fame are based on

which Sungsimdang breads have been most adored over the past year.

Since this is official information directly from Sungsimdang,

you can trust these 9 menu items to be absolutely delicious.

Just a heads-up: if it's not quite your personal taste, it might be best to skip that one!

For instance, I'm not a big fan of salted pollack roe,

so the Myeongnan Baguette personally wasn't my cup of tea.

At Sungsimdang, if you stick to what usually suits your palate and preferences,

you absolutely can't go wrong! Haha

If you love matcha, you absolutely HAVE to grab this one.

Seriously, it's an unbelievably delicious, no-fail menu item...

It's packed with generous matcha cream inside the croissant too!

Sungsim Pure Cream Bread ~$2

A dreamy combination of fresh cream and custard cream.

It's even more delicious chilled or frozen!

Toyo Bread (Red Sweet Potato Bread) ~$3

Big Match (Cream Cheese Bread) ~$2

These two amazing breads made it into the Hall of Fame just last year (2025)!

Personally, I wouldn't say they were mind-blowingly delicious,

but they were definitely worth trying.

If you're a fan of sweet potato and cream cheese, give 'em a try!

Kimchi Chapssal Jumeokbap (Kimchi Glutinous Rice Ball) ~$2

This has been my absolute favorite item, which I've been stocking in my freezer since last year,

but it's gotten so popular lately, I'm a little sad about it...

I went on Friday, and it was completely sold out, so I couldn't grab any...

Many elders, however, find the Twiso (fried soboro bread) a bit too oily,

except for the chive bread, which they seem to enjoy.

If you've made it this far, definitely give them a try!

There are a total of 5 types of Twiso:

Original Fried Soboro ~$1

Sweet Potato Twiso ~$1

Chocolate Twiso ~$1

Chive Bread ~$1

Matcha Twiso ~$2

They also sell a variety of sets, making them the best for gifts in terms of both price and composition.

However, some sets might be out depending on when you visit, so it's best to have at least 3 menu items in mind when you go.

The Chive Bread needs to be consumed within 4 hours,

so if you're giving it as a gift on the same day, buy a set that includes it.

Otherwise, I recommend the safe bet: Original Twiso + Sweet Potato Twiso.

Madeleines are also great for gifts.

I thought they wouldn't be very good, but I got a calendar coupon and tried them for free, and I was surprised by how delicious they were, haha!

The second menu item that surprised me after tasting it: Manju!
