Let me introduce Stay Soje (스테이소제), a charming guesthouse in Daejeon (대전) that's super close to Sungsimdang (성심당) at Daejeon Station (대전역).
Stay Soje
Check-in: 4 PM
Check-out: 12 PM
Stay Soje is about a 10-minute walk from Daejeon Station. One small downside is that there's no dedicated parking, so you'll need to park in a public parking lot a bit away from the accommodation.
You can navigate to 'Sojedong (소제동) 299-64'. I was worried there wouldn't be any parking spots since it was after work hours, but it's quite spacious, and being a paid parking lot, there were plenty of spaces.
After parking, I called Stay Soje and was happy to hear that 24-hour parking was available, which was really convenient for getting around the next day.
However, you'll need to walk for about five minutes while pulling your luggage!

I almost walked past it! If you see the New Yangbokjeom (뉴양복점) tailor shop, turn into the alley. You'll spot a building with a charming, retro vibe.

There's a self check-in system at the entrance, so when I checked in, a card was issued. If you use the machine for check-in, you *must* also use it for check-out. Alternatively, you can head downstairs and check in directly with a staff member.

I really appreciate such simple pricing! I hate wasting time and racking my brain because prices are different everywhere you look... This is simple and accurate, just like Muje Motel (무제여관) in Daegu (대구).
When I searched, reservations were fully booked, which was a shame, but I managed to snag a Deluxe room on Yeogi Eottae (여기어때)... ₩65,000 (~$49)!

>> View Stay Soje on Yeogi Eottae <<
Even though it's a Deluxe room, it is a bit small. There's a bed, a long table next to it, and a washbasin. I watch a lot of movies, but mostly in theaters, so I don't really watch TV or OTT services much. I wasn't familiar with it, but apparently, that's a Samtanbymee (삼탠바이미) — a portable smart screen that lets you watch all kinds of OTT content!

The signature color here is green! Even the towels, toilet paper, and slippers are green. One roll of toilet paper was green, and the other was a lighter lime green. So cute! Haha.

Toothpaste, toothbrushes, body lotion, cleansing foam, and disposable slippers are all provided. I thought that was just a desk clock, but it turns out it's a Bluetooth speaker with wireless charging capabilities!

There's also a hairdryer, and apparently, a few Dyson Airwraps (다이슨 에어랩) are available for rent.

There's a charger, but it's quite far from the bed. It's a bit inconvenient that there's no outlet close to the bed.

Green towels and a yellow trash can!

The view outside the window was of the neighbor's house... I was worried I might accidentally make eye contact, so I kept the curtains tightly drawn.

If you head out to the hallway, you'll find a small kitchen where you can use the microwave.

There's a step in the hallway... I almost tripped! ㅠㅠ Everyone, please be careful~

Lounge
Head down to the basement, and you'll discover a lovely lounge.

This is the front desk.

The biggest downside of this neighborhood is the lack of convenience stores. I couldn't believe it, but it's true! I wanted to grab a beer, so I looked for a convenience store, but not only are there none nearby, they all close before 8 PM. Haha.
Left with no choice, I ended up buying beer and Japanese snacks from the basement lounge.

It looks like you can buy these pretty green towels here.

When I searched blogs, they mentioned breakfast was available, but apparently, it's been discontinued since four months ago. ㅠㅠ You also have to buy coffee. It would be nice if they at least provided coffee, haha.

With lovely sofas and spaces, it would be great to work on your laptop or read a book during your stay.
