Starfield Hanam Guide: Best Eatopia Food Court Eats

I recently had some business to take care of,

so I made the long journey all the way from Daegu to Hanam!

I made a quick stop at Starfield Hanam,

and since it's located right near the subway station (Hanam Geomdansan Station, Line 5),

it was incredibly easy to get to using public transit.

We visited on a Thursday afternoon,

so it wasn't crowded at all, and we had a wonderful, relaxed time.

This place gets packed on weekends,

but thanks to the weekday vibe, we enjoyed a peaceful meal

and browsed the shops at our own pace.

Here is my honest, fully self-funded review of the trip!

🍚 Eatopia Eats: Goseolsot & Ongijeong

Since we were starving the moment we arrived,

we headed straight to Eatopia on the 3rd floor.

Thanks to the weekday afternoon lull, there was no wait,

and we easily found a nice table.

Our picks for the day: Goseolsot and Ongijeong!

1. Goseolsot - Low-Salt White Pollock Roe Hot Stone Pot Rice (~$8)

Craving a clean, wholesome Korean meal, I ordered

the 'Low-Salt White Pollock Roe Hot Stone Pot Rice' from Goseolsot.

The pollock roe wasn't salty at all,

and it had this rich, savory flavor that made the rice disappear in no time—a true rice thief!

Plus, the portion size was incredibly generous!

They gave us two whole chunks of pollock roe,

so I was able to scoop up a big bite with every spoonful without holding back!

The way it was cooked just right made it absolutely delicious!

The highlight of any hot stone pot meal is definitely the scorched rice water (sungnyung), right?

After scooping out the rice, pouring hot water in, and finishing off with the warm sungnyung,

my stomach felt incredibly comforted and satisfied.

2. Ongijeong - Steak & Fresh Salmon Donburi

Tempura Feast Set (~$13)

Yappu's pick was

the hearty set menu from the famous tendon spot, Ongijeong!

The spread was incredibly well-rounded.

The vegetable tempura (denpura) was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside,

and the dipping sauce paired with it was absolute perfection.

Above all, the steak and fresh salmon

were sliced so generously thick

that the texture with every bite was just amazing 👍

We originally planned to just grab a light bite,

but since both dishes were so filling,

we ended up walking away completely stuffed!

'Decathlon Hanam'

To walk off all that delicious food and help with digestion,

I headed over to 'Decathlon' on the 3rd floor.

It's a famous French sports brand,

and since it was a weekday, it was nice and quiet—perfect for browsing around.

I'd heard so many rumors about how insanely budget-friendly and high-quality it is,

and seeing it in person, I instantly understood why!

Whether it's running, camping, swimming, or tennis—

whenever you want to try a new sport,

the upfront cost of gear can be super intimidating, right?

But this place is packed with incredibly affordable items that are perfect for "dipping your toes" into a new hobby!

A Shopping Spot for the Whole Family

They have plenty of adult gear, of course,

but they also have tons of sports equipment for kids, including bikes, soccer gear, basketballs,

and even the absolute cutest little swimsuits.

Even though it was a weekday, I saw lots of parents

enjoying some relaxed browsing with their little ones.

If you're looking for sports or running gear,

you definitely need to stop by Decathlon!

Visiting on a Thursday afternoon was the ultimate pro-tip!

Thanks to that, I got to enjoy a super relaxing meal

and completely aced my shopping trip, too.

Even though I traveled all the way up from Daegu,

it was so close to the station and such a rewarding, jam-packed day 😊
