Recommended Value-for-Money Hotel in Magok, Seoul: Business Accommodation Near Balsan Station

When you're on a business trip to Magok,

or have plans for LG Arts Center or COEX Magok,

finding the right accommodation can be a bit of a puzzle.

It's cumbersome to go all the way to central Seoul

and then come back,

and yet,

it feels like a waste to spend a lot on accommodation just for sleeping.

The SR Hotel Magok, where I stayed this time,

is conveniently located near Balsan Station, making getting around a breeze.

The room conditions were spotless,

and it's thoughtfully equipped with everything a business traveler needs, from breakfast to a free laundry room.

It offers so much more than a typical business hotel,

and I was truly impressed with my stay :)

1. Why I Chose a Hotel Near Balsan Station

When I was choosing a hotel in Magok,

the most important factors for me were

the location, price, and whether it was comfortable for a solo stay.

It's easy to use Balsan Station,

and it's only three stops on Line 5 to Gimpo International Airport Station,

making it a great option for accommodation before or after using Gimpo Airport.

Even if you have plans for LG Arts Center or COEX Magok,

there's no need to go all the way to central Seoul.

Around the hotel,

there's a GS25 convenience store just a minute's walk away,

and plenty of diverse restaurants, from chicken and pizza to much more,

making it easy to grab dinner.

Check-in and check-out can be done via kiosk,

which means you won't lose much time if you arrive late – a definite plus!

Parking is available on the first floor behind the hotel

and also in a mechanical parking system,

making it convenient if you're visiting by car.

2. My Review of the Superior Double Room

The room I stayed in was a Superior Double Room!

It had a modern and clean ambiance overall,

and with a double bed, a tea table, and a TV,

it was perfectly suitable for one or two people.

On the left side of the bed, there's a wireless charger and lighting controller,

and on the right, two power outlets,

making it super convenient to charge your phone, power bank, and laptop

all at once.

You could also watch OTT services like YouTube and Netflix

on the TV.

And surprisingly, what I really loved was the bathroom!

The shower and toilet were separated,

and there was a spacious bathtub,

which was absolutely perfect for a relaxing half-bath after a long day.

Being able to unwind and de-stress at your business trip accommodation

is quite a huge perk, isn't it?!

Amenities like shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and soap were

all provided, and they even smelled great.

Towels, slippers, a hairdryer, coffee pot, cups,

bottled water, tea bags, and even stick coffee –

almost all the essentials were there.

There was also a dedicated space to put your luggage,

making it super convenient to organize your belongings.

If you scan the in-room QR code,

you can access a 24-hour AI hotel guide.

From Wi-Fi details to breakfast times and checkout procedures,

you can instantly check anything you might suddenly wonder about,

which turned out to be incredibly convenient, much more than I expected, haha!

3. Breakfast & Facilities

If you have an early morning meeting or exhibition schedule,

I highly recommend opting for breakfast.

The breakfast consisted of an American-style main dish and

a buffet.

The main course included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages,

hash browns, a salad, and fruit.

The buffet offered toast, croissants, soup, cereal,

coffee, tea, milk, and juice, among other things,

so I was able to enjoy a surprisingly hearty meal.

You can enjoy it at a more affordable price if you book in advance,

so if you plan to have breakfast, it's a good idea to reserve it beforehand!

For business travelers, the ancillary facilities are also worth noting.

On the second floor, there's a fitness center where you can get a light workout in,

and you can use the washing machines and dryers for free.

Even detergent and dryer sheets were provided,

and there was an iron, making it particularly useful for long business trips

or itineraries where you need to wear a suit.

It seemed especially handy.

On the first floor, you'll find not just luggage storage,

refrigerator and freezer storage, and a coffee machine,

but also laptops and a multifunction printer!

It was super convenient when I needed to quickly print some documents!

4. Rooftop Pool

I thought it was just a budget-friendly business hotel focusing on rooms,

but it even has a rooftop outdoor pool!

Operating hours are 12:00~21:00,

and the usage fee was ~$22 per person.

If you're planning to use the pool, I recommend comparing packages that include both your room and pool access,

along with hotdogs, Han River ramyun, and ade available at the pool area :)

With sunbeds and bean bags, it seems perfect for 1-2 travelers who want to relax after a business trip

or enjoy a casual 'hocance' (hotel vacation) in Magok, Seoul.

that has a great location, is super clean, and thoughtfully provides all the necessary facilities,

rather than a fancy 'hocance' hotel. Haha!

Especially from a business traveler's perspective,

it felt like they really thoughtfully covered all the essential points: rooms with bathtubs,

free laundry and drying, breakfast, and even self-check-in!
