Shinhwa Theme Park: Conquering the Park in Half a Day with a Big 3 Pass
Since it is an outdoor park, weather is everything. Highly recommend visiting in October!

Since having kids, I have visited Jeju twice, and both times I stayed at Shinhwa World.
Last time we stayed at the Marriott, and this time, since we had a larger group, we chose the Somerset.
Honestly, it was an absolute delight both times.
Shinhwa World is massive, so you do not even need to leave the resort. It is incredibly convenient when traveling with little ones.
It has pools, restaurants, cafes, and even a full-scale amusement park!
Plus, Wonder Island—the high-quality media park I posted about last time—was absolutely amazing.

Thrills and Fun Events at Shinhwa Theme Park
Open Year-Round / Highly recommend skipping on rainy days!
Shinhwa Theme Park is an outdoor amusement park located inside Shinhwa World.
Unless there is a special notice, it is open year-round from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
There are no indoor rides, so both the kid-friendly and adult thrill rides are spread across a spacious outdoor area.
The park is divided into three zones: Oscar's New World, Rotary Park, and Larva Adventure Village, featuring 13 attractions in total.
There is a massive playground near the kid-friendly rides, along with gift shops and a great food court.
However, if it is too hot, too cold, or raining, your options are pretty limited.
On rainy days, only four attractions remain open (including the carousel and the 4D theater).
So, definitely pick a clear, sunny day to visit!
We visited in early October, and the weather could not have been more perfect!

After spending a few days eating and sleeping together, our three older girls and the youngest one suddenly formed an unbreakable bond!
When we entered around 11:00 AM, the sky was slightly overcast, so we wore light windbreakers.
But by midday, it was warm enough (perfect T-shirt and jeans weather) with no wind at all.
My only regret was leaving my sunglasses back in the hotel room! Haha.
If you stay at Shinhwa World Somerset, every guest (adults and kids alike) gets a complimentary Shinhwa Theme Park Big 3 Ticket!
If you add extra guests to your room, you get extra tickets. (Of course, infants who are not counted in the guest capacity won't get one).
The Big 3 Ticket allows you to ride three attractions. Adults who do not want to ride can easily hand their tickets over to the kids.
If an adult and child ride together, it just counts as two rides on the ticket. It is super flexible and convenient!
Let's head inside!

An amusement park! Look at Melody's face—she was absolutely thrilled (even if her expression says otherwise, haha). She is my ultimate source of laughter!
Shinhwa Theme Park Attraction Height Limits
You will find height limit guides posted all over the park. Pro tip: Take a photo of it as soon as you enter so you can quickly check which rides your kids can go on as you walk around.

Is it just my daughter, or do all kids stand up super straight and stretch their necks as high as they can when measuring their height? Haha.
Having finally passed the dreaded 90 cm (35 inches) mark where there is barely anything to ride, our brave 4-to-5-year-olds have now conquered 95 cm (37 inches), 100 cm (39 inches), and even the 105 cm (41 inches) barrier!
Since our three friends were all over 105 cm (41 inches) and similar in height, no one had to sit out in tears. They all got to enjoy their favorite rides together.
Here is the official height limit guide from the website:

Many rides allow younger kids to board if they are accompanied by an adult, so make sure to check the guide closely to maximize the fun!
Larva Characters, Rides, Playground, and Map

Melody's eyes went wide when she saw the Larva characters she usually watches on TV scattered all over the park!
The facilities are incredibly clean and well-maintained, and the whimsical Larva theme makes for amazing photo spots. (Though I was so busy chasing the kids around that I barely got to take any photos myself!)

Look how much the sky changed in just two hours! The clouds completely cleared up, and the sun came out in full force.

There are plenty of rides where parents can join in on the fun, so I hopped on a couple with the kids.
Also, we did not even plan this, but when we met up in the morning, we realized we had all dressed in stripes! Our entire group was matching in stripe patterns, and even our color pairings matched. Talk about meant-to-be!
After burning through our six Big 3 tickets, the kids headed straight for the playground's endless slides. These little energizer bunnies just wouldn't stop!

After shouting "Okay, time to go eat!" about twelve times, we finally managed to pull them away.
Instead of driving out, we headed straight to the food court inside Shinhwa World for some Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork).
It was surprisingly delicious, and both the kids and adults left completely full and satisfied!
Use the map to target your favorite rides and plan your route!
