Today, it's meat for lunch again!
Craving samgyeopsal (pork belly), I diligently searched Naver Maps
and found Bongogi, which offers a special lunch meat set on weekdays from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
So, I decided to visit Bongogi.
Even though there's a review event,
the restaurant boasts an impressive 16,000 reviews,
making me think, "Shall we try this place today?" and so I went.

making it quite accessible.
We drove there and used the Sindorim Prugio 3rd Apartment Complex parking lot, which offers up to 2.5 hours of parking support,
allowing us to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace.
Restaurant Atmosphere

Even on a weekday lunchtime,
there were quite a few customers when we visited.
I wondered if it was because of the special lunch menu, but then I realized...

The free corkage might also be a big draw.
Meat with wine on a weekday lunch? Sounds delightful! 😉

Menu & Ordering

Bongogi's Special Lunch Meat Set Menu
For the same price as a single serving of meat from the regular menu,
available Mon-Fri from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM,
you can enjoy Hwangtae Sundubu Jjigae (dried pollock soft tofu stew), Osaek Gyeranjjim (colorful steamed egg), and eco-friendly rice.
Coffee and ice cream are even provided as complimentary desserts.
(Orders start from 2 servings.)
If you can visit during weekday lunch hours,
I highly recommend going for the special lunch set!
Free corkage is also available starting from lunch.
I'm usually a samgyeopsal (pork belly) person,
but this place is renowned for its moksal (pork neck), so...
Antibiotic-Free Grilled Pork Neck Set Meal (1)
Eco-Friendly Grilled Pork Belly Set Meal (1)
And that's what we ordered!
Yum!

Once we placed our order, the table was set with all the delightful banchan (side dishes).
Even though it was just a lunch special,
the banchan spread was incredibly generous!

And look what we found – delicious yangnyeom gejang (spicy marinated crab)! Score! 😉

Alright, folks, it's time for the main event: grilling time!
We carefully placed one thick cut of pork neck and one of pork belly onto the sizzling grill.
On one side, we drizzled some oil,
and then piled on the garlic and kimchi to grill alongside the meat.

Watching those thick cuts of meat cook to perfection was pure joy.

Once it was beautifully seared, we cut it into perfect bite-sized pieces,
and let it cook a little longer.

First up, the perfectly cooked samgyeopsal (pork belly) – pure bliss!

That samgyeopsal, bursting with juicy deliciousness just by looking at it,
we enjoyed it plain,
or wrapped it into a perfect ssam (lettuce wrap).

For a different flavor, we placed a piece of pork neck on some baek-kimchi (white kimchi),
then topped it with wasabi-marinated shiitake mushroom for a delightful, savory bite!
Exploring the Lunch Special Set's Side Menu!

And what were they? None other than Hwangtae Sundubu Jjigae (dried pollock soft tofu stew) and Osaek Gyeranjjim (five-color steamed egg)!

The Hwangtae Sundubu Jjigae, bubbling vigorously in a large hot pot, and
the Osaek Gyeranjjim, proudly made with antibiotic-free eggs,
were so substantial and delicious, they could easily be stand-alone orders!
Tasty Perks!

It's incredible how satisfying just the lunch special was!
They even have something called the Bonggogi VIP Card, which made me want to sign up on the spot!
Should I really go for it... LOL! 😉
Plus, if you participate in a review, you get to play a fun prize draw game!

I landed 4th place in the draw!
One free drink!
Dessert: Ice Cream & Coffee

For dessert, you can choose between coffee and ice cream, or have both!
And of course, I made sure to indulge in the ice cream before heading out!

If you're hunting for a fantastic spot for a company dinner or a gathering near Sindorim or Guro, you'll be thrilled to know they offer corkage-free dining, making it even better!
Just a heads-up: it's quite popular, so there might be a wait during peak dinner hours. To guarantee your table and snag some awesome coupon benefits, I highly recommend making a Naver reservation beforehand!
