Shilla Hotel Seoul Urban Island Pool Review 2026: Tips & Jjamppong Set
Make the most of your Shilla Seoul Urban Island pool visit! Our guide covers everything from securing the best sunbeds to savoring the famous Jjamppong set, ensuring a perfect luxury getaway.

Let's dive into my experience at The Shilla Seoul's outdoor pool, Urban Island.
I recently enjoyed a 2-day, 1-night stay from Friday to Saturday, opting for the room + Urban Island package.
After checking in, our first stop was the pool. I'll share everything from how to reserve your sunbed and a candid review of Urban Island's signature Jjamppong set, to valuable tips for choosing the best Shilla Hotel package for your visit.
Securing Your Sunbed at Urban Island
Urban Island is The Shilla Seoul's luxurious outdoor swimming pool complex. Featuring a main pool, a dedicated kids' pool, jacuzzis, cabanas, and a rooftop area, it's the perfect urban oasis for a relaxing "hocance" (hotel vacation).
🏊♂️ Fall Season Operating Hours & Fees
(※ Children are defined as 37 months to 12 years old)
Period | Operating Hours | Admission Fee |
09/01/2026 – 09/30/2026 | 9:30 AM – 9:00 PM | Adults ~$73 Children ~$51 |
10/01/2026 – 11/15/2026 | 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM | Adults ~$62 Children ~$40 |

Sunbed reservations at Urban Island are made at the 3rd-floor pool reception after you check in.
(Basic sunbeds are complimentary, but you must use them within 30 minutes of reservation.)
We entered The Shilla Hotel's outdoor pool around 3 PM on a Friday. Since it was a weekday afternoon, there were plenty of available spots, so we initially reserved sunbeds in the front row right by the 1st-floor main pool.
Around 3 PM, the sun was surprisingly intense on the front-row sunbeds. It felt too hot even for adults, let alone a child, so we eventually moved to the sunbeds in front of the kids' pool.

The area around the kids' pool offers shorter distances for children to move around and provides excellent shade. If you're visiting with young kids, I highly recommend reserving sunbeds in front of the kids' pool right from the start!
The pool water temperature was pleasantly warm throughout, making it comfortable to swim even in early September's weather.
Locker Room & Shower Facilities

While many guests wear their swimsuits in their rooms and come down in bathrobes, the locker rooms are so well-equipped that you can easily use the pool before heading up to your room. There are also about 6-7 individual shower stalls.
You can request children's bathrobes from your room. If you didn't bring one, make sure to ask for it in advance. It's incredibly convenient to just wrap your child in a bathrobe and head back up after swimming!

Urban Island Signature Set Review

When you visit Urban Island, the Abalone Hanwoo Brisket Jjamppong is an absolute must-try! We ordered the Signature Set, which includes half a fried chicken and two glasses of Heineken draft beer, for ~$99.

I thought, "For Jjamppong costing over ~$51, it better be good!" And let me tell you, it was so delicious, I'd order it again on my next visit.
Loaded with seafood and beef brisket, the broth was incredibly rich with a perfect smoky aroma. The portion was so generous it was easily enough for two adults. The crispy half-chicken and french fries were also excellent for satisfying our post-swim hunger!
And the refreshing beer included in the set? Absolutely amazing! It paired so perfectly with the chicken and Jjamppong that we even ordered extra drinks, and still wished we had more.
Tips for Choosing and Booking Shilla Hotel Packages

This time, we opted for a package that included Urban Island (the outdoor pool). For September 2026, individual outdoor pool access costs ~$73 per person. However, a package allows two people to use it for around ~$109, making it significantly more economical to book them together in advance.
The Shilla Seoul offers a wide array of package options tailored to different stay preferences. Beyond the Urban Island-specific packages, you can find options like The Parkview breakfast package, dinner-inclusive packages, or even indoor sauna/library packages. With such diverse offerings, you can easily customize your trip to suit your tastes and the season.

If your goal is to simply relax in your room without needing pool access or breakfast, it can be more economical to utilize travel platform partnerships or credit card billing discounts rather than booking directly through the official website or a package.
