Honest Review & Special Deals: Shilla Stay Jeonju
The Perfect Base Near Jeonju Hanok Village (Plus a Free Upgrade Story!)

Wondering where to stay during your Jeonju getaway?
I recently stayed at the Shilla Stay Jeonju, and honestly,
it completely exceeded my expectations. It's a solid, reliable choice.
While it isn't located directly inside the Hanok Village,
it's an easy walk away and incredibly close by taxi.
The breakfast buffet and rooftop lounge are huge draws, and
I managed to snag a weekday promotion including breakfast for around ~$85!
Even on weekends, you can find rates in the mid-~$150s,
so definitely bookmark this hotel for your 2026 travel plans.

Lahan Hotel Jeonju is another option, but it runs a bit pricier,
especially on weekends when the price gap widens.
Having stayed at the Shilla Stay myself,
I found both walking and catching a Kakao Taxi incredibly convenient.
I ran into plenty of international travelers here.
True to its business hotel roots, there are computers and printers available on the first floor.
Beyond the first-floor cafe, the unlimited draft beer
at the rooftop lounge is a massive perk.
Sure, downtown Jeonju has some amazing craft beer spots,
but they can get quite expensive.
If you just want to relax with family or friends?
Hanging out at the Shilla Stay rooftop
and taking an elevator straight to your room is unbeatable.
Shilla Stay Jeonju Room Tour (Standard Twin Room City View)

The room features Shilla Stay's signature clean, minimalist aesthetic.
It was spotless, smelled fresh, and easily met all my expectations!
Although it's categorized as a business hotel,
the quality of the bedding and bathroom amenities
make it a fantastic value for the price.
Shilla Stay Jeonju also offers
windowless 'Cinema Rooms'—
a great budget option if you're just looking for a place to crash.
I originally booked a City View Double Room,
but since a friend joined me, we needed a Twin Room.
Normally, this upgrade costs an extra ~$23 on-site,
but the front desk staff graciously upgraded us for free at check-in! 😀

The bedding was incredibly comfortable,
and there's a certain peace of mind
that comes with staying at a recognized brand hotel.
The bathroom was pristine, complete with a separate vanity area.
Shilla Stay Jeonju's biggest advantage is its reliable cleanliness,
allowing you to wash up and sleep without a second thought.
Whenever I travel for work,
if there's a Shilla Stay in the city,
it's an automatic booking for me.
The amenities are by Elemental Herbology.
With shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion
all provided,
the subtle herbal scents were the perfect way to unwind!
Must-Visit Spots Near Jeonju Hanok Village

The Hanok Village is obviously a must-do in Jeonju.
Specifically, make sure to visit Gyeonggijeon Shrine, located right across from Jeondong Catholic Church.
It houses the portrait of King Taejo (founder of the Joseon Dynasty),
and offers a beautiful vantage point of the Catholic Church.
It's a wonderful place for a stroll and taking photos.
The entrance fee is very affordable, and the grounds aren't overwhelmingly large,
so a leisurely 1-hour walk around the shrine is incredibly healing!

While Jeonju itself has plenty to keep you busy,
taking a 30-minute trip to Imsil is a great addition.
If you're visiting in May or June, catch the Imsil Rose Festival,
or consider pairing Jeonju with the coastal city of Yeosu for an epic food tour!
If you're planning a summer vacation in South Korea this year,
book your accommodation early while these special rates are active.
