Dalldang: The Best Fruit Mochi Spot

As a seasoned traveler who’s visited Jeonju countless times, I can confidently say that Jeonju Hanok Village remains an absolute must-see!

If you’re looking for the best fruit mochi in Jeonju Hanok Village, Dalldang is the place to be.

I once tried a popular fruit mochi spot in Seoul, curious about the hype. While it wasn't bad, I personally felt it wasn't quite worth the price. That’s why I was thrilled to discover Dalldang in Jeonju!

While strolling through Jeonju Hanok Village, I stumbled upon Dalldang, a specialty fruit mochi shop.

The shop is quite cozy, operating mainly for takeout.

I initially thought they only sold fruit mochi, but it seems they also offer 'Chaltteok Ice Cream'.

And get this – Dalldang, the fresh fruit mochi hotspot, has even been featured on the popular Korean TV show 'Amazing Saturday'!

Their persimmon, strawberry, pineapple, and whole tangerine mochi looked even more enticing with large posters displayed.

Dalldang offers a total of six types of fruit mochi: persimmon, strawberry, whole tangerine, Shine Muscat, golden kiwi, and pineapple.

The persimmon mochi is priced at ~$3, while all the others are a uniform ~$3!

You can get a box for 4 or 6 pieces, and if you purchase a 6-piece box, you even receive a complimentary insulated bag!

It’s a perfect treat to enjoy while exploring Jeonju or to bring home as a delicious souvenir!

The packaging samples were also on display, and the slightly faded look actually added to their charm!

Each fruit had a cute drawing and witty phrase:

The little illustrations and captions for each fruit were adorable.

While waiting for my order, I snapped a photo at their cute photo zone!

With the carefully packaged fruit mochi box in hand, I took another quick photo at the designated spot!

Initially, I hadn't planned on getting the persimmon mochi, but since it was featured on TV, my curiosity was piqued! So, I ended up taking home four pieces: persimmon, whole tangerine, pineapple, and golden kiwi.

They thoughtfully provided a knife and skewers for cutting and eating, but my companion and I were too eager! We immediately devoured the kiwi and whole tangerine mochi right on the street. I tried to take a photo of them cut in half, but the visuals weren't quite Instagram-worthy, so no cross-section shots, unfortunately!

However, I can tell you that Dalldang's fruit mochi is much larger and heavier in person than it appears in photos!

Inside the chewy mochi, there's a sweet white bean paste, making the overall flavor delightfully sweet and satisfying.

While the kiwi and whole tangerine were good, my travel buddy said the persimmon mochi was delicious, but for me, the pineapple mochi was the absolute best!

My friend packed the pineapple mochi for me to eat if I got hungry in the car, and it was significantly better than the kiwi or tangerine ones!

The sweet and tangy pineapple juice bursting in my mouth, combined with the chewy glutinous rice cake, was a perfect match.

Even my husband agreed it was incredibly tasty!

When you visit Jeonju, I highly recommend trying Dalldang's fruit mochi instead of just the usual Hanok Village snacks! The prices are also very reasonable, and I especially recommend the pineapple mochi.
