Shilla Stay Plus IhoteooDuring our trip to Jeju Island last month in June 2026, we stayed at the newly opened Shilla Stay Plus Iho Tewoo!
Since we always prioritize hotels with great pools, and this property is relatively new, we knew we had to book it right away.
It was the perfect choice for our island getaway!
Even though we didn't book an official ocean view room, we could still catch a lovely glimpse of the blue sea from our window!
What a pleasant surprise!
We were absolutely thrilled.
We changed into our matching "killer whale" themed swimsuits and headed straight down to the pool.
From what I understand, you can get day-pass access to the pool area by spending a certain minimum amount at the hotel cafe.
Because of this system, the private lockers and shower rooms are incredibly clean and well-maintained.
The poolside sunbeds are available on a first-come, first-served basis, which is super convenient.
Since we visited during the off-peak season, there were plenty of empty spots to choose from.
The pool water is heated to a comfortable, warm temperature, making it perfect for a relaxing swim.
While swim caps aren't strictly mandatory, I highly recommend tying your hair back or wearing one to avoid getting wet hair in your face.
Just a heads-up: it's a very family-friendly resort, so there are usually plenty of kids splashing around!
There is a convenient outdoor shower area for a quick rinse before and after your swim.
They also provide a large, plush pool towel upon entry, making it easy to dry off and stay warm.
To be completely honest, the pool area was a bit smaller than I had anticipated based on the online photos!
I thought it would be massive, but it's actually a bit cozy.
Even so, there are two distinct pools of this size, so there's plenty of space to enjoy.
Near the pool entrance, they have complimentary life jackets available, which is great if you aren't a strong swimmer or are traveling with kids.
When you're finished, just toss your used towels into the designated return bin.
Jeju's island weather can change in a heartbeat, so when the sun finally breaks through the clouds, you have to seize the moment and take some photos!

Right in front of the hotel, there's a beautiful coastal walking trail that leads you down to the rocky shore.
It's a very short, pleasant walk from the property.
During our stroll, we actually saw local Haenyeo (Jeju's famous female divers) heading out to sea for their harvest.
I couldn't help but think how incredibly cold the water must be! Talk about amazing dedication.
The view of the pool from our room was absolutely breathtaking...
It looked so beautiful and peaceful.

The pool is open until 10:00 PM, so you can use it even late at night. In addition, warm water is provided so you can enjoy swimming without feeling cold.
