Scrolling through the RA Guide app, an event suddenly popped up that immediately caught my eye.

With over 240 likes, I had to know what this buzz was all about!

It looked familiar, similar to something a friend had posted on Instagram before. But what really grabbed my attention was the location: Seoul National University!

Even though it was an event happening in South Korea, seeing over 100 people marked as 'interested' on RA Guide felt like a sure sign of a guaranteed good time.

After checking out their Instagram, it seemed like exactly my kind of vibe, so I quickly snagged a ticket.

The blind tickets were already gone, but I managed to get an early bird ticket for ~$31. I remember door tickets were around ~$52.

I learned my lesson after missing out on Boiler Room tickets for Peggy Gou's visit — I thought I'd easily get them, but procrastinated and they sold out instantly! Now, I always buy my tickets in advance.

The great thing about RA Guide is that if your plans change, you can easily resell your ticket directly through the app!

It's not a cancellation, but rather a proper resale system, which means no scalping — just fair exchanges within the community.

The payment process was a bit clunky, probably because it's a foreign app, but I persevered!

(The RA Guide app is fantastic for finding out where the best raves are happening globally, seeing how much interest events are generating, and buying tickets. While some smaller Korean events might not show high interest on the app but still draw a crowd, it's an excellent way to make sure you never miss out on major events everyone else knows about!)

I woke up late and missed the last public transportation, so a taxi it was!

A techno party at a university? It felt a little unexpected, but that's part of the charm!

PERMIT is an organization that hosts music-related parties and events, especially techno and house, often collaborating with other companies. For this event, which took place in 2024, they utilized a former fuel depot on the Seoul National University campus — a truly unique space!

Stepping inside, you instantly wonder, "Does a place like this really exist in Korea?" The ceilings are incredibly high, the space is vast, and the whole atmosphere is just undeniably cool. It felt like a concrete factory, industrial and edgy — I've never been to Berlin, but I imagine it has a similar vibe!

They strictly prohibited photos or videos inside, so the only footage I have is from right before I entered.

It was quite an experience to see the campus transformed into such a vibrant party spot!

And here’s what it looked like from the outside.

Even in the restrooms, the music was perfectly audible, keeping the energy flowing. For women, there were three stalls, which could get busy during peak times, but they were consistently clean.

It turns out the venue was right next to the College of Veterinary Medicine... quite a juxtaposition!

Since videos weren't allowed, I could only capture the audio. But honestly, hearing it live with the incredible sound system and the sheer spatial depth of the venue was an experience that's hard to put into words. It's truly something you have to be there for to appreciate fully.

While their Instagram hinted at food options, I didn't try any myself and didn't really see anyone eating. The restrooms were intuitively located further inside the building and easy to find.

It was a blast, but going alone, I found myself getting a bit tired quickly and headed home.

All in all, it was an incredibly fun experience! If you're a fan of techno or house music, I highly recommend checking out a PERMIT event in Seoul. Keep an eye out for their next party in 2026 or beyond!

However, if you're purely a K-pop lover, this might not be your scene. If you don't enjoy techno, you'll likely find it boring, so consider yourself warned!
