When the evening breeze gets this cool, like it is these days,
I was looking for a great place for family time
and ended up taking the Han River Yeouido Cruise!
The whole family together,
we enjoyed Seoul's night skyline and watched a performance,
creating truly meaningful memories.
Today, I'll share my review of the Yeouido ferry, Seoul Cruise,
which also makes for a fantastic date spot in Seoul.
1. Seoul Cruise Yeouido Ferry: Essential Information

Seoul Cruise Basic Information | |
Location | Yeouido Ferry Terminal, 231 Yeouidohangongwon-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul |
Transportation | 5-minute walk from Yeouinaru Station |
Product Types | Hi! Seoul (~$18) / Starlight Aurora (~$27) / Sunset Fireworks (~$48) / Dinner Fireworks (~$100) |
There are several types of Yeouido ferries, but I chose Seoul Cruise among them.
I heard that Seoul Cruise is the largest ship departing from Yeouido Han River Park.

Seoul Cruise No. 2, which I boarded, can accommodate about 410 people,
and No. 1 can even carry up to 1,000 people.
When I actually boarded,
the cruise ship was indeed large, and perhaps because it's a new model,
there was minimal noise and vibration,
so I was able to enjoy my time without any seasickness or discomfort.

Seoul Cruise offers a variety of ferry products, including
Hi! Seoul which operates during the day,
Starlight Aurora which runs at night,
and even options that include dinner and fireworks.
Among these, we opted for the
Starlight Aurora package to enjoy Yeouido's night view.
2. Inside the Cruise & Boarding Tips

Although the Starlight Aurora departs at 7:30 PM,
you need to complete the boarding declaration form by 7:20 PM,
so we arrived comfortably around 7:00 PM.
When I visited,
the boarding queue started forming around 7:10 PM.

Those who waited early headed straight for the
2nd-floor event hall balcony to secure their spots.
Unlike the 1st floor, the balcony seats had tables,
which seemed perfect for a more intimate atmosphere.

However, the performance is clearly visible even from the 1st-floor event hall,
so there's no need to rush just for a seat.
Only those who specifically desire balcony seating
might want to arrive early.

Please note that the F&B seating across from the 2nd-floor balcony
is only available to those utilizing the F&B services.

I spent most of my time on the 3rd floor.
The space was decorated like a lawn, and with the lights on,
it felt like a small rooftop garden
had appeared right on the Han River.
The breeze was also wonderfully cool,
so on days like these, I highly recommend spending time
outdoors rather than indoors.

You could also experience feeding seagulls for an additional ~$2 (3,000 KRW),
which is a fantastic activity for families with children
I had a feeling this would be a super enjoyable experience too!
3. My Starlight Aurora Experience on the Seoul Cruise

As someone who absolutely loves to travel internationally,
I always try to squeeze in a river cruise or a pleasure boat ride
whenever I visit a new destination.
But as I actually took the Yeouido cruise and gazed upon Seoul's nightscape,
I was genuinely surprised by how stunning it was –
every bit as beautiful as any cityscape I've admired abroad.
Even though I've seen Seoul's night lights countless times,
viewing them from the cruise gave me a fresh perspective,
making me feel like I was truly on an exciting getaway.

The Starlight Aurora cruise I embarked on
set off from Yeouido Dock,
gliding past iconic landmarks like 63 Square and Nodeulseom Island,
before turning around at the magnificent Banpo Bridge.

From the iconic N Seoul Tower to the vibrant ambiance of the recently opened Nodeulseom Island,
the mesmerizing lights of subways and cars whizzing across the bridges,
and the absolutely captivating Rainbow Fountain that leaves everyone, young and old, spellbound –
every view was so breathtakingly beautiful that
I couldn't help but continuously snap photos.

After soaking in the spectacle of the Rainbow Fountain,
as we started our journey back to Yeouido,
a delightful onboard performance kicked off around 8:20 PM.
With the breathtaking night views, the enchanting fountain,
and then a fantastic performance on the way back,
even my parents didn't get bored –
they told me it was such a wonderfully entertaining way to cap off the day!

We even took a memorable family photo with the stunning Han River as our backdrop!
It had been ages since we'd taken one, which made the moment feel even more special and significant.
On a side note, I also realized how incredibly romantic this would be as a date spot for couples,
not just for families!
If I ever get to enjoy the Seoul Cruise with a special someone,
I'd definitely want to try a dinner or sunset fireworks cruise next time –
imagine sharing a meal or watching fireworks light up the sky together!
The Yeouido Seoul Cruise, offering unique and romantic evenings
without having to venture far from the city!
Not only is it a fantastic recommendation for a Seoul date spot,
but it's also worth noting that the cruise can host group events, weddings, and even corporate functions!

Well then, I'll be back next time
