Tired of the same old dates? Discover the magic of a Han River night cruise in Yeouido, Seoul! Enjoy stunning cityscapes, live music, and the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain.
If you're tired of the same old cafe or restaurant routines every time,
and have been looking for a slightly different Han River date experience,
then I highly recommend taking a Yeouido cruise!
I used to walk along Han River Park all the time,
and just gaze at the cruise ships passing by,
but I never actually thought about getting on one myself.

But this time, while planning a Han River date course with my husband,
I heard there was a new cruise on the Han River
and the price wasn't too steep,
so I thought, 'This is it!' and booked it right away! Haha.
The one I rode this time was
Seoul Cruise's Starlight Aurora Cruise.
Honestly, before I boarded,
I thought, 'It'll just be a simple round trip on the Han River, right?'
But boy, was I wrong!

From the stunning Seoul nightscape to the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain,
and even a live performance on board,
the atmosphere was so incredibly wonderful, much better than I expected! T_T
From how to book your Seoul Cruise and essential preparations before boarding,
to a look at the interior facilities and my honest review of the experience,
I'll share all my best tips in one comprehensive guide!
If you're curious about the overall vibe,
check out the video below!
1. Seoul Cruise

I chose the Starlight Aurora Cruise because I really wanted to fully enjoy the Han River night view.
The Starlight Aurora Cruise departs from Yeouido Terminal,
and is a 70-minute round-trip course that goes to Banpo Bridge and back.
It sails daily at 7:30 PM,
and the course includes a view of the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain
and a live musical performance on board.

In the past, when I thought of Han River cruises,
I only pictured simple daytime courses focused on scenic views.
But when I actually looked into it, I realized there's a surprisingly wide variety of options! Besides the daytime scenic cruises,
there are also Han River night view cruises, firework show courses,
and even dinner buffet experiences.
If you want to enjoy the evening ambiance like we did,
the Starlight Aurora course seems perfect.
📢 Location: 231 Yeouido Han River Park-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul

If you exit from Yeouinaru Station, Exit 2,
you'll immediately see the building marked 'Seoul Cruise',
so you won't have to worry about getting lost. Haha.
📢 Price: ~$26 for adults with advance reservation

For those who wish to use it on the day of their visit,
you can also purchase tickets directly at the ticket office and board!
2. How to Board & What to Prepare
After making a reservation, I received a mobile QR code,
and at first, I thought I just needed to scan it and board.

However, since it's a boat ride,
at the ticket office right in front of Seoul Cruise,
you need to fill out a boarding declaration form (or passenger manifest)
and present your physical ID or a mobile image of it
for verification before you can exchange your ticket and board!
The Starlight Aurora Cruise departs at 7:30 PM,
so boarding closed at 7:20 PM.

But once I actually arrived at the pier,
I wanted to take photos and had to fill out documents,
and it felt quite hectic! Haha.
So, I recommend arriving at the pier
with plenty of time, at least 30 minutes before departure.
3. Inside the Cruise

Seoul Cruise No. 2, which we boarded,
was much larger and grander in person than I had imagined,
and I was really surprised!
As a large vessel, approximately 58 meters long,
its interior was thoughtfully divided into three levels.
I usually get pretty bad seasickness, so,
Before I even stepped foot on the boat, I was genuinely worried if I should pack some motion sickness meds,
because I was seriously concerned.
I have a not-so-fond memory of struggling on a small, shaky boat in the past, so naturally
I was a bit anxious 😔.

But here's the amazing part,
maybe it's because the boat is so large and stable,
but I barely felt any swaying during the entire 70-minute journey!
I didn't experience any motion sickness at all,
and enjoyed the ride so comfortably! 😄
Of course, individual experiences with motion sickness can vary,
but even if you usually hesitate due to motion sickness concerns,
I think you can enjoy this cruise without too much worry!

📢 **First Floor**
The Event Hall, where various live performances unfold onboard!

📢 **Second Floor**
The Panorama View Zone, offering stunning Han River views
& Lounge (with a snack bar serving simple drinks and treats)

📢 **Third Floor**
The expansive outdoor rooftop open deck
My absolute favorite spot, the main highlight, was undoubtedly
the 3rd-floor rooftop deck.
The moment I stepped up, a refreshing river breeze greeted me,
and the Seoul nightscape stretched out 360 degrees around me.
The atmosphere up here was simply unreal! 😉
The deck is so spacious that
even with a crowd, there was no need to compete for a good spot,
allowing everyone to leisurely soak in the views, which was a huge plus.
4. My Seoul Cruise Experience

As I reflect on my Seoul Cruise experience,
if I had to choose just one unforgettable highlight,
it would absolutely be the Banpo Bridge night view from the 3rd-floor deck!
It was a completely different experience from seeing the Seoul nightscape while driving across bridges
or from the Han River's riverside parks.
The perspective from the water was simply on another level!
Floating on the water in the heart of the Han River,
and gazing at the sparkling city lights on either side,
I felt like I had been whisked away on a distant, magical journey.

The cruise sets off from Yeouido,
gracefully passing Wonhyo Bridge, Hangang Bridge, and Dongjak Bridge in succession,
before heading towards the iconic Banpo Bridge.

Once we reached Banpo Bridge,
we were treated to a direct view of the magnificent Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, cascading beautifully.
Seeing the fountain show up close from the water
—even though it's something I've seen countless times from land—
it felt infinitely more spectacular!

On the return journey to Yeouido,
the live music performance continued in the First Floor Event Hall.
With the enchanting night views complemented by the live music,
those 70 minutes absolutely flew by in the blink of an eye! 🥹
What I loved most was the sheer convenience! No complicated plans needed—no frantic searching for dinner or a cafe,
or racing around to find the perfect night view spot.
You simply hop on the boat, enjoy relaxed conversations,
and truly unwind while soaking in the breathtaking night views.
That's what made it so incredibly practical and satisfying for me!
5. Who I Recommend This To

First and foremost, I highly recommend this for couples looking to break free from the usual dinner-and-cafe routine,
and discover a truly unique and romantic date spot in Seoul.
I particularly suggest opting for the evening night view cruise, especially as the lights begin to twinkle on,
rather than a daytime ride. 😉
It's not just a fantastic date idea for couples, but it's also perfect for a filial outing with your parents
or a fun family weekend trip with kids!
It truly won't disappoint! ✨

With comfortable indoor seating where you can relax, a convenient snack bar,
and well-maintained restrooms onboard, it means zero fatigue
even when traveling with elderly family members or young children.
The boat's stability is a major advantage too,
allowing you to ride without any motion sickness worries.
Even the familiar Han River transforms into a completely different, captivating attraction when you experience it from the water.

If you're pondering a unique date experience in Seoul,
or wondering where to go for a memorable weekend outing,
definitely consider adding the Seoul Cruise date course to your plans!
