This hop-on hop-off service allows you to explore the city's main attractions at your own pace. You can disembark at any stop that catches your eye, explore, and then simply hop back on a later bus to continue your adventure.
I recently experienced this tour with my 12-month-old baby, and I've put together all the essential details, including whether strollers are allowed and where to find discounted tickets.

Gwanghwamun Station → Myeongdong → Namsangol Hanok Village → N Seoul Tower → DDP & Dongdaemun Market → Daehak-ro → Changgyeonggung Palace → Changdeokgung Palace → Insadong & Bukchon → In front of Cheong Wa Dae → Gyeongbokgung Palace & National Folk Museum → Sejong Center for the Performing Arts & Gwanghwamun Square
This is the general route, and it passes by several five-star hotels, so if you're staying at one of them, it's even easier to access.

Head straight from Gwanghwamun Station Exit 6, and you'll easily spot the ticket booth shown in the picture.

Online reservations cannot be made for the same day. If this tour is part of your travel plans, it's best to book in advance.

2. Stroller Allowed? My Experience with a 12-Month-Old Baby
To cut straight to the chase: Yes, you can bring a stroller, provided it's foldable and can be stored on the first floor of the bus.
However, if you plan to sit on the open-air second floor, remember that no dedicated seat is provided for infants under 48 months.
You'll need to use a baby carrier or hold your child.
The stairs to the second floor are narrow and steep, making it both difficult and unsafe to carry a folded stroller up. Plus, there's no suitable storage space on the upper deck.
What truly stood out was the journey up Namsan (Namsan Mountain). The tree-lined roads were lush and offered a wonderfully cool and refreshing experience.
If the weather is pleasant, definitely aim for the open-air seating on the upper deck. The winding uphill roads and the interplay of trees created an absolutely beautiful landscape and atmosphere!
The bus drops you off right in front of the Namsan Observatory, so if you're keen to take in Seoul's panoramic views, hop off and enjoy.
Passing by Seoul's five Grand Palaces and Cheong Wa Dae (the former presidential residence), this Downtown Palace Course is a dream for history buffs.
I considered getting off around Changdeokgung Palace, but the summer heat (over 86°F!) was too intense, so I stayed on.
With my 12-month-old, we rode on the second floor, mostly sitting in the very front, either with him on my lap or in a front-facing baby carrier.
It was ironic that even on a scorching summer day, the open-air seating felt much cooler than the enclosed section.
However, the direct sun can be intense, so a hat and a thin blanket are absolute must-haves. My little one enjoyed the views for a while but eventually drifted off to sleep – typical! 😂
3. Seoul City Tour Bus Features
Each seat is equipped with an audio guide, offering narration in 12 different languages.
Remember to bring your own wired earphones to plug in.
There are also USB charging ports available, so pack your charging cable if you need to power up your devices on the go.
The type of Seoul City Tour Bus allocated can vary depending on traffic conditions.
Options include the Open-Top Double-Decker Bus, Glass-Top Double-Decker Bus, and the Semi-Open Single-Decker Bus.
Personally, I found the Open-Top Double-Decker to be the best.
You can open or close the roof depending on the weather. Plus, only the sections with an open roof allow windows to be opened, which ironically made these spots much cooler during the summer.
4. Conclusion
Having only seen these buses from afar, actually riding one was a delight! It was fun to revisit familiar spots with a sense of nostalgia and discover new areas with fresh eyes.
Riding on a weekday made the experience even better, as it was pleasantly quiet.
While primarily aimed at international tourists, I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul, even if you're a local from outside the city.
I'm already planning to take my eldest, who's a huge fan of vehicles, on another ride this fall!
