Dragging heavy luggage through crowded subways, standing for the entire journey, and making multiple transfers can be exhausting even before your flight takes off. That's why I always recommend taking the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) train!

From Seoul Station to Incheon Airport, the AREX Express train offers a direct route, reaching Terminal 1 in just 43 minutes and Terminal 2 in 51 minutes. With assigned seating, you can travel comfortably, saving your energy for your flight. It's truly a much more relaxing experience.

In this guide, I'll share my personal experience riding the AREX Express and show you how to book your tickets for about ~$1 less than the walk-up fare!

Seoul Station - Incheon Airport Express Train Prices & Schedule

The standard adult one-way fare for the AREX Express train from Seoul Station to Incheon Airport is approximately ~$9.

However, if you book your tickets through Klook, you can get them for around ~$8, saving you about ~$1!

While a saving of ~$1 per person might seem small, it adds up quickly if you're traveling round-trip or with family and friends!

The Airport Railroad Express operates frequently, with trains departing every 20-40 minutes throughout the day, offering various departure times to align with your flight schedule.

How to Book Your AREX Express Discount Tickets

I purchased my Airport Railroad tickets through Klook, and the process was incredibly smooth.

I was able to get my ticket for approximately ~$8, which is about ~$1 cheaper than the normal fare.

Simply select:

Departure - Seoul Station

Arrival - Incheon International Airport

Then, click 'Book Now' and you're all set! It's incredibly straightforward, isn't it?

Here's a crucial tip!

You don't need to confirm your specific train time when you first purchase the ticket. After activating your ticket on the Klook app, you can choose your desired departure time, and your carriage and seat will be assigned, along with a QR ticket.

The QR code you receive can be scanned directly at the turnstile, which makes the whole process incredibly convenient.

Another major advantage of booking online is that you don't have to wait in line at the ticket counter on your travel day. This saves valuable time!

While same-day purchases are possible, tickets are non-refundable, so I recommend booking on the day of your travel once your plans are firm.

My Experience Riding the AREX Express!

From now on, I'll always use the AREX Express for airport transfers!

Compared to taking the regular subway, using the AREX Express train truly conserved my energy.

The fact that all seats are reserved was a huge plus, eliminating any worry about standing during the journey.

There's also a dedicated luggage storage area, so I could travel comfortably without worrying about my bags.

On top of that, free Wi-Fi and complimentary bottled water are provided, and there's even a restroom on board. The journey to the airport was incredibly pleasant and comfortable.

Another great advantage is its punctuality – it departs and arrives on schedule, so you don't have to worry about delays impacting your flight.

While the fare is a bit higher than the regular subway, the energy saved and the sheer convenience of a 43-minute direct journey were absolutely worth the cost for me!
