Seongsu Roventa Ring Workshop Review 2026: DIY Couple Rings

In Seongsu, with my boyfriend who I haven't seen in Korea for a while,

instead of just dinner/café, I wanted to try a date that was a bit different from our usual,

so this time, we decided to make our own rings together~!!

We ended up going to what's known as the most famous ring workshop in Seongsu 🙂‍↕️

I'd been to a silver ring workshop with friends before,

and back then, it felt like we were hammering silver sticks to shape them,

but at Roventa, the main method was personally refining and completing rings that already had designs!

It wasn't what I expected, but it turned out to be even better! 🫶

To get straight to the point, I was so happy with the finished product because it was truly gorgeous!

It had that 'Is this really something *I* made?!?' vibe, haha.

Hehe, I just had to show it off first before starting! Isn't it pretty?!?!

The Workshop

First off, the building has two entrances, and you'll want to head towards the real estate office!

It's the side closer to the main street, not the 'BALBAL Vintage' side.

I initially went to the vintage store,

but luckily there was an entrance guide, so I quickly found my way back~!~!

Roventa was on the 3rd floor~

The building itself looked a bit old from the outside,

but once we stepped inside, it felt quite different from what we saw outside.

Overall, it was clean, and there were quite a few workstations,

but it didn't feel like the tables were too cramped together.

Each station was equipped with electric tools and a workbench,

and there were even phone holders for taking photos or videos.

This made it perfect for filming our ring-making process, hehehe.

The Designs

As soon as we entered, we started by browsing the design samples,

and there were quite a lot more options than I expected!

The last place I went didn't have such a wide variety of designs,

but here, there were so many trendy designs, which I loved!

From simple designs to ones with cubic zirconia, we could try them all on,

compare them, and the prices varied depending on the design.

The designs on the bottom right were totally my style🤍✨

I've included the full price list and all the designs for you to see.

Sizes 20 or larger and lettering engraving each cost an additional ~$7.

My boyfriend generally prefers simple designs,

but I personally prefer something with a bit more character.

Still, we decided to choose something with a similar feel,

and since the design I chose looked challenging to make,

S actually said it looked more fun, so we picked it together, haha.​

There was also a separate English guide for design selection.

From how to measure sizes to designs, finishing methods, and engraving,

everything was laid out, which was great for us to easily understand together.

Since my boyfriend is a foreigner, I really appreciated this thoughtful detail! 🫶

Making the Ring

Once we chose our design, it was time to move to the workbench!

As we put on our aprons and gloves and started taking photos,

the staff brought over a sample of our chosen ring design,

and guided us through each step of the process~

Filing rough edges → Smoothing the surface with sandpaper

→ Refining inside and out with an electric handpiece → Polishing

These were the steps we followed, and at each stage, they provided guidance on whether we were doing well,

and which parts needed more or less work.

First, we used two types of files to refine the surface and edges.

Then, we smoothed it out further with 400-grit sandpaper.

After that, we used an electric handpiece.

As you can see in the photo, we also used sanding equipment marked with '320'.

And refined the surface once more with a rubber-like tool.

It turned out to be quite a hands-on process, much more than I expected, haha!

We were both so dedicated to making our rings as smooth as possible...

...that my ring ended up super thin! It was a bit sad but also hilarious, haha!

Even my super thin ring was beautifully salvaged and finished by them 🥹🤍.

My boyfriend was also next to me, completely engrossed in making his ring.

His 'concentration face' was absolutely hilarious, haha! So cute!​

Throughout the crafting process, the staff checked on our progress.

And re-explained the methods if needed.

It wasn't really a structure where you make the complete product entirely by yourself from start to finish.

Instead, it was more like we did a lot of the hands-on refining ourselves,

and the staff elevated the final quality.

I worked with the initial size I was given.

But when I tried it on just before completion, it felt tighter than expected ^ㅡㅜ.

In the end, the staff enlarged the size and finished it for me.

Completion / Pickup

After finishing our work, we left the rings with them.

From this point, the staff handled the final finishing touches.

And they notified us separately once they were complete!

I received a call around 5:30 PM saying it was ready for pickup.

So, I went back to pick it up around 6 PM~

It's in a great location where you can check out pop-up stores or wander around cafes in between,

making it perfect for passing the time.

And as soon as I received them,

OMG ㅠ Is this really what I made?? Thank you so much!!!

That's exactly what I exclaimed, haha! Compared to when we finished working on them,

the surface was so much cleaner and sparkling – I was beyond happy..🤍.

I absolutely loved them, so clean and perfect!

I was especially pleased with the case and even the packaging box.

Hehe, and my ring has a beautiful cubic zirconia setting,

which made it even more to my taste once finished 🫶.

I think it'll be great for everyday wear in various places, hehehe.

It's perfect for taking photos after making them, and it felt like receiving a gift.

Perfect For These Explorers

If you're looking for a date activity in Seongsu that's more than just eating and visiting cafes,

something you can both enjoy doing together~!

It would be especially wonderful for an anniversary, haha!

From choosing the design to the hands-on crafting process right by each other's side,

it was a uniquely fun and enjoyable experience~~

And while you do make it yourself,

the staff handles the final finishing touches,

so it's perfect for those who want to create lasting memories of their own making, while also having a beautifully finished product.

Getting the finished rings on the same day was also a huge plus.

Things to Note

It's important to note that you don't receive your rings immediately after your crafting session ends.

Because we needed to enlarge the size and my ring had become a bit thin,

the care and finishing took about an hour and a half 🥲.

(We were initially informed it would take within two hours, so I wasn't surprised, haha!)

During the wait, it was fine because you could explore pop-up stores or

visit a cafe – it was the perfect amount of time to do so~.

However, if you're expecting an experience where you create the entire product yourself from scratch,

like melting silver or hammering a raw stick, then this might be a little different from what you imagine!

Here, you primarily refine an already designed ring,

and the staff focuses on elevating the final quality.

But precisely because of that, it actually feels like you've bought and are wearing a beautifully crafted ring! ✨

Considering it included two silver rings and the hands-on crafting experience, even at around ~$146, I thought it was definitely worth it!

But if you ask me if I'd make another one right away, since I've already made these beautiful rings,

I probably won't be doing it again for a while, right? Haha!

Nevertheless, for a special occasion, creating something together, even just once, leaves you with a beautiful finished piece and truly memorable moments from the experience.

It was such a satisfying date! 🫶☺️
