As of my visit on June 8, 2026,
the Sungsimdang Wheat Field was
completely bathed in a glorious golden hue.
The wheat stalks were bowing their heads,
creating an atmosphere that felt like harvest was just around the corner,
and indeed, now is its most beautiful phase.
What made this visit particularly special was that
the entrance on the main road side was open.
From this side,
the wheat field appears much wider and more abundant,
making it perfect for capturing stunning photos and videos.

2. Where Exactly is the Sungsimdang Wheat Field?
📍 Address: 19-11 San, Gyochon-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon

The Sungsimdang Wheat Field is
nestled right behind Gyochon Elementary School.
The easiest way to find it is to enter 'Gyochon Elementary School' into your navigation system,
and head there.

After passing the white gate of Gyochon Elementary School's back gate parking lot,
just follow the road for about 5 minutes, and you'll arrive.
At the fork, make sure to go right.

Currently, the main road entrance (19-14 San, Gyochon-dong) is also
open,
making access much easier than before.

3. Where Should I Park?
The Sungsimdang Wheat Field
does not have a dedicated parking lot.

In principle, parking is not allowed at elementary schools;
however, since it's an open area,
many visitors end up parking in
the back gate parking lot of Gyochon Elementary School.
Alternatively, you can also use the alleys around Gyochon Elementary School for parking.

Near the main road entrance,
there's a small space right in front
where about 1-2 cars can briefly stop.
However,
*large vehicles occasionally park there.

4. What's the Current State (as of June 8th)?
As of June 8, 2026,
the Sungsimdang Wheat Field was
completely bathed in a glorious golden hue.

The vibrant green that lingered just a few days ago has mostly faded,
and a golden hue has
strongly taken over the entire field.

The wheat stalks are bowing their heads quite a bit,
making it clear that harvest isn't far off.

From the top of the hill,
towards the Sungsimdang landmark stone,
you can still catch glimpses of green.

The area boasting the most magnificent golden waves
is near the main road entrance.

So, if you've been dreaming of seeing the Sungsimdang wheat field,
you need to go right now!
There are only a few days left.

Whenever the wind blows,
the entire wheat field sways gently,
and this scene is far more beautiful
when captured on video than in photos.
The sight of the golden wheat ears moving in unison
was even more poetic than I expected.

5. Where to Find the Prettiest Views?
The Sungsimdang wheat field has two entrances:
1️⃣Towards the back gate of Gyochon Elementary School (Sungsimdang Landmark Stone)
2️⃣The main road next to Mimade Apartments

The entrance on the main road side next to Mimade Apartments
had been closed,
but as of my visit on June 8, 2026,
it was open.

What's more, there was a path leading all the way to the middle,
allowing me to see the wheat field up close.

From this direction, the view opens up widely,
making it perfect for capturing the golden wheat field landscape
in one sweeping glance.
It's also more advantageous for taking scenic photos.

On the other hand, if you want to take a commemorative photo with the Sungsimdang sign,
it's best to head towards the back gate parking lot of Gyochon Elementary School.

If you enter from the main road side,
the path stops halfway.

6. Best Photo Spots?
Personally, my favorite spot is
first and foremost, the entrance on the main road.

With the wheat fields stretching endlessly,
framing a person small in your shot
truly brings out the breathtaking golden landscape.

Next up is the path that winds through the middle of the fields.
With wheat fields unfolding on both sides, it's perfect for capturing those scenic back-shot photos!

Just remember, these are active wheat fields, so
please stick to the existing paths and move carefully.

The third spot is around the Seongsimdang sign.
Before, the overgrown grass made it look a little unkempt,

but this time, the grass has been freshly mown,
making it much tidier!
If you're hoping to snap an iconic shot at the Seongsimdang wheat fields,
this is definitely a spot to check out.

7. What to keep in mind when you visit?
While it's a lovely place for a casual visit,
remember this isn't a park –
it's an active agricultural field where wheat is grown.
Please be mindful and avoid stepping into the wheat fields themselves.

There aren't any public restrooms,
and shade is pretty scarce.
I'd recommend opting for long pants over shorts,
and sneakers over sandals.
The grass and wheat ears can be surprisingly prickly!

8. Why you should visit right now!
As of June 8, 2026,
the Seongsimdang wheat fields are absolutely drenched in a glorious golden light.

The wheat stalks were bowing their heads,
giving off a feeling that harvest would begin any day now.
Plus, the main road entrance was open,
allowing for even more stunning views of the expansive wheat fields.
And with the area around the Seongsimdang sign freshly trimmed,
accessibility has definitely improved.

These magnificent golden wheat fields are
a fleeting spectacle, only visible for a short window in early June.
So, if you're exploring Daejeon and seeking a free, picturesque spot
to visit casually after your Seongsimdang bakery pilgrimage,
I wholeheartedly recommend heading to the Seongsimdang wheat fields right now!
