you'll also find the Seongsimdang Cultural Center, so it's a fantastic idea to explore them all together.

If you're heading to Seongsimdang and type 'Seongsimdang Cultural Center' into your navigation, be warned: the narrow alleyways can make it a bit tricky.

While there's parking in the building's basement, it's very cramped,

and the alley leading in is tight, making getting out tough. So, I don't really recommend it.

If you purchase a drink and use the Woori-deul Park parking lot, you'll receive a ticket valid for up to 2 hours of parking.

It's generally better to use the Seongsimdang Main Branch, Cake Boutique, or Yetmat Somssi and get a parking ticket from them.

At Woori-deul Park, you receive a parking ticket,

while at Hyundai Parking Lot, you scan the barcode at the bottom of your receipt

to settle the parking fee.

Personally, I recommend the Hyundai Parking Lot.

If you pay for parking,

Woori-deul Park is cheaper,

and Hyundai Parking Lot is more expensive,

but if you use Seongsimdang, you can use it for free,

and the parking spaces are relatively more spacious.

sells a variety of Seongsimdang merchandise and drinks.

After ordering your drinks on the 1st floor,

you can enjoy them on the 1st floor, basement 1st floor (Meari Gotgan), or 2nd-3rd floors (Meari Sangjeom, Meari Lounge).

Seongsimdang's merchandise is incredibly diverse and abundant, isn't it?

With Fried Soboro soap, tote bags, dolls, cases, books, socks, t-shirts, and so much more to see,

it was so fun exploring each item!

They make fantastic gifts too!

What makes this place truly special, in particular,

is that instead of just stylish or expensive merchandise, it's founded on the principles of eco-friendly design.

It's filled with **reuse and recycle goods** that consider our environment.

The Fried Soboro soap, for instance, is a resource-circulating soap made by recycling soybean oil used to make the fried soboro,

there are also **tote bags** reimagined from discarded **flour sacks** used for baking bread,

and mini pouches remade from **promotional banners** that would otherwise be thrown away after a single use.

Even the menu boards

are made from shopping bags and boxes!

I truly admire Seongsimdang for prioritizing nature and the environment!

Next to the merchandise section, there's also a space where you can enjoy your food and drinks.

And sure enough, it was completely full that day too!

The seats are almost always packed! Haha!

B1F: Meari Gotgan (Echo Storehouse)

You can see that B1F is also bustling with people, right?

With its spacious and warm ambiance, featuring both traditional and modern interior design,

it's a perfect place to relax and enjoy conversations.

Here, you can also savor the bread and drinks you've purchased.

It's the largest space among all the dining areas at Seongsimdang Culture Center.

2F: Meari Lounge (Echo Lounge)

The Meari Shop, located on the 2nd floor,

is a lifestyle goods store that sells products made through reuse, recycle, and reform.

There are so many incredibly diverse items, aren't there?

Personally, I absolutely love browsing through lifestyle goods stores,

so I completely lost track of time while exploring everything!

Next to the souvenir shop, there's also a space where you can enjoy your food.

One side features floor-to-ceiling windows, offering lovely views of Daejeon's streets.

There are also priority seats available for guests with strollers, wheelchairs, or babies.

While there's an elevator within the building,

the dining areas can be a bit narrow,

so navigating with a wheelchair or stroller might be a little challenging.

3rd Floor: Meari Lounge

The 3rd-floor Meari Lounge hosts a variety of programs on Thursdays and Saturdays.

On days without programs, it transforms into a dining space.

Gallery La Roo, located on the 4th and 5th floors, showcases works by local artists

and various cultural and artistic pieces.

It's also a fantastic place to delve deep into Seongsimdang's culture.

On the day of my visit,

the exhibition was themed Connecting Through Time: Seongsimdang Chronicles,

featuring artist Cho Dong-hwan, 91 years old,

and his pencil-drawn stories of Seongsimdang were on display.

I signed the guestbook at the entrance before starting my exploration.

From Seongsimdang's early founding days

to its evolution into what it is today, you can really get a glimpse of its journey.

What's more, old tools and even two sacks of flour, symbolizing Seongsimdang's humble beginnings, are on display,

allowing you to thoroughly explore the history and culture that Seongsimdang has built over the years.

5th Floor Gallery Lalu

A Modest Village, My Seongsimdang (Hong Bitna Solo Exhibition)

On the 5th floor at Gallery Lalu, you'll find the "A Modest Village, My Seongsimdang" exhibition, featuring artist Hong Bitna.

Aren't these charming paintings just beautiful?

Their cozy feel reminds me of Seongsimdang.

From the 5th floor, you can look down onto the 4th floor,

and there's a glass railing installed,

so special attention is needed, especially for young children.
