Discover Seastay Hotel in Jeju Aewol, an oceanfront gem with private bathrooms and stunning views for around ~$45. Perfect for car-free travelers, close to local eateries.
When I was planning my trip to Aewol, Jeju Island, I had three main criteria for choosing the perfect accommodation:
📌 Easy and affordable taxi ride from Jeju Airport.
📌 Absolutely no guesthouses! I needed a private bathroom and great value, ideally around the ~$45 mark.
📌 A hotel right on the ocean, with walkable access to fantastic restaurants and cafes, perfect for exploring on foot.
Ultimately, the Seastay Hotel was the ideal choice for me as a solo traveler relying on public transport and my own two feet. It offered the best routes and allowed me to soak in the incredible Aewol ocean views.
Here's my honest, self-funded review!

One of the biggest perks of Seastay Hotel is that every single room offers an ocean view. You're guaranteed to wake up to stunning sea vistas!
I booked a double room, and as soon as I stepped in, the ocean greeted me, instantly making me feel like I had truly arrived in Jeju.
Being able to stay in an ocean view room for around ~$45 is, in my opinion, the hotel's strongest selling point.

The room felt quite spacious, which was a pleasant surprise. It featured a simple sink for light cooking, a comfy single sofa perfect for gazing at the sea, and even a spa tub (though I didn't use it this time).

The bedding was spotlessly clean and smelled fresh, which I always appreciate!

You can use the spa tub for an additional ~$3. I considered it but decided to skip it this trip.

The day I visited was a bit cloudy, so I couldn't fully enjoy the terrace, but I can imagine how perfect it would be for sipping a beer on a clear day.
What's great is that smoking is prohibited both inside the room and on the balcony, so non-smokers can fully enjoy the terrace without any lingering odors.
Don't worry about privacy or morning light – there are blackout blinds on the terrace window!

Just step out onto the terrace, and you're greeted by the beautiful Aewol sea!

Cups, a hairdryer, and hangers were all readily available, making my stay very convenient.
You can also enjoy OTT services and YouTube, which is perfect for a relaxing "staycation" vibe in the evenings!
(Remember to use your personal accounts.)

The kitchenette includes a single induction hob, a sink, and a refrigerator, allowing for simple meal preparation.
(A microwave is available in the lobby!)

They even provide cutlery, dishes, and a small pot for one! So convenient.

The bathroom features a separate shower area and was very well-maintained, making it comfortable to use.

There were plenty of towels and toilet paper. Basic disposable amenities were provided, but remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste!

Seastay Hotel in Aewol, Jeju, is right on the ocean, making it perfect for morning strolls. Plus, with plenty of great restaurants nearby, it's an excellent choice for travelers who prefer to explore on foot.

While the hotel shows its age a bit, it's clearly very well-maintained and clean.
Considering its prime oceanfront location in Aewol, the fantastic value at around ~$45 a night, and the overall room quality, I was extremely satisfied with my stay here.
