Lately, I've found myself in Seoul quite a bit, which means plenty of solo dining adventures.
Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to **Sanchome Seorae Main Branch**, my absolute favorite spot in Seorae Village when I'm craving a rich, deeply flavorful ramen broth.

Even now, in late August 2026, it's still incredibly warm when you're out and about 🥵
But as a ramen aficionado, I couldn't resist choosing Japanese for my meal!
Befitting Seorae Village's reputation, the walls were adorned with celebrity autographs, a clear sign of its long-standing popularity!
Upon entering, you simply place your order at the self-service kiosk and then grab a seat.
I visited well after the main lunch rush, so I had the place almost entirely to myself.
While the menu states that mini rice bowls are typically ~$2 during lunch hours, I was lucky enough to order one even during my off-peak visit, perhaps because it was quiet.
I'm usually a big fan of Tsukemen, but after a tough decision,
I opted for the Karaka Ramen this time!
Karaka Ramen + Mini Butadon 🍜
I figured 'Karaka' probably comes from the Japanese word 'karai' (辛い), meaning spicy,
and indeed, the broth had a delightful kick to it!
Oh, it was absolutely my kind of ramen..
The broth was incredibly rich and creamy – truly a taste of authentic Japan right here in Seorae Village!
I love loading up my ramen with bean sprouts, so halfway through,
I ordered an extra helping. It was practically half ramen, half sprouts! The crunchy texture was simply divine.
And let's talk about the Butadon (pork rice bowl)… Sanchome Seorae Main Branch is
seriously a Butadon master.
Honestly, everything here is delicious – *zenbu* (all of it)!
These mini-sized options are perfect for those of us who want to try a bit of everything without over-ordering. Highly recommend! 👍
Personally, I found the Karaka Ramen and Mini Butadon combo
absolutely fantastic!
A definite recommendation for any solo diners out there.
