Today, I'm excited to share my honest, self-funded review of Saelounkkum Pension, a fantastic accommodation option in Pocheon, just outside Seoul.

Why I Chose Saelounkkum Pension
When selecting our Pocheon accommodation, I focused on three key criteria:
1. Accessibility
Must be within a 2-hour drive from the greater Seoul area.
2. Cleanliness
The interior needed to be spotless and spacious enough for families or groups.
3. Water Activities
It had to offer a valley, a swimming pool, and ideally a waterslide.
Saelounkkum Pension in Pocheon perfectly fit all these requirements.
What sealed the deal was the news that all rooms were fully renovated in April 2026, so I booked it without hesitation.
With a clear stream flowing right in front of the pension and a large swimming pool in the yard, it's a paradise for water lovers.

Capella 1st Floor Room Layout & Facilities Review
Check-in is handled at the convenience store and office located on the first floor.
Here's an amazing tip!
While room check-in is at 3:00 PM, you can start using the swimming pool as early as 11:00 AM on the day of your arrival.
Plus, you get complimentary use of either a bungalow or a pagoda by the pool (assigned randomly).
Being able to enjoy water activities well before check-in is a huge advantage, especially for families with children or large groups traveling with friends.
The room I stayed in was the 'Capella 1st Floor' condo-style family room.
Thanks to the extensive renovations completed in 2025 and April 2026, the interior was incredibly fresh and clean.
It's a two-bedroom unit (standard for 4 guests / maximum 6), featuring two plush queen-sized beds, one in each room.
With extra mattresses generously provided, there was ample space for a large family or a group gathering.
The thoughtful placement of power outlets by the bedside made charging smartphones incredibly convenient.
Kitchen & Private BBQ
Beyond the large coffee table in the living room, the kitchen also features a separate dining table for four.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cooktop, rice cooker, gas range, refrigerator, and a complete set of pots, pans, various dishes, and even an opener, making it easy to cook meals in your room.
However, please note that basic seasonings like salt or pepper are not provided, so be sure to bring your own!
What I loved most was the private barbecue area designated for each room!
It's conveniently connected directly to the kitchen via a back door, making it super easy to transport meat and fresh veggies.

Usage Fee: ~$19 (includes charcoal, grill net, gloves, and tablecloth)
- If you bring your own charcoal/grill, a site usage fee of ~$13 applies.
Bathroom & Amenities
The bathroom is well-stocked with essential amenities like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste.
You'll only need to bring personal items such as your toothbrush and face cleanser.
⚠️ Hot Water Usage Tip!
To get hot water, you need to activate the hot water button on the living room wall.
I wasn't informed about this during check-in and was initially surprised when only cold water came out.
Overall Review
Saelounkkum Pension in Pocheon is a charming destination with excellent accessibility, located within a 2-hour drive of Seoul. It offers everything you need for a fantastic trip, including a valley, a large swimming pool, a convenience store, and private BBQ facilities!
The biggest advantage is undoubtedly the pristine cleanliness of its recently renovated facilities.

Yes, while room check-in starts at 3:00 PM, you can use the swimming pool in advance from 11:00 AM on the same day. For early use, you can rent either a bungalow or a pergola next to the pool for free.
The private BBQ area can be used until 11:00 PM, and the basic fee, which includes charcoal and a grill net, is ~$19. If you bring your own charcoal and grill, you only need to pay a venue usage fee of ~$13.
Cooking utensils such as an induction stove, rice cooker, and tableware are fully equipped, but basic seasonings like salt and pepper are not provided. Therefore, you must bring any necessary seasonings for cooking before your visit.
To use hot water in the bathroom, you must separately turn on the hot water button located on the living room wall. If you do not activate this button, only cold water will come out, so please make sure to check it before use.
