Pumasi Jeju Review 2026: Best Local Imochase Bar

Are you looking for a cozy, quiet spot near Jeju City Hall

where you can enjoy a relaxing drink

along with a massive spread of delicious pub bites?

The spot I’m sharing today, "Pumasi" (Jeju City Hall branch),

is a gem tucked away in the alleyway right across from Jeju City Hall.

It's an "Imokase" and "Samchunkase" style gastro-pub (think Omakase, but curated by a friendly local auntie or uncle!).

For around ~$26 for two people, you get an incredible variety of dishes,

making it an exceptionally budget-friendly place to drink.

I recently visited with my husband,

and we absolutely loved the food lineup, the generous portions, and the cozy vibe.

I highly recommend it as a must-visit pub in Jeju City.

Our Visit to Pumasi

Pumasi (Jeju City Hall branch)

is a cozy pub nestled in the alleyway right across from Jeju City Hall.

The map on the left shows the route from Jeju Airport, and the right shows the route from our home.

It takes about 15 minutes by car from Jeju Airport,

and from Nohyeong-dong, where we live,

it’s about a 20-minute drive.

Since we planned on having a few drinks, we took the bus!

If you do decide to drive,

you can use the public parking lot located right in front of the venue.

Before leaving Jeju, we wanted to have

a proper night out with drinks, which is why

we chose to visit Pumasi Jeju City Hall branch.

We arrived around 7 PM on a weekday,

and the place was already buzzing with quite a few people.

Today's specials are written right on the menu board! Haha

Their signature offering is the "Imokase" table, where

a curation of dishes is served based on the number of people in your party.

On this day, we ordered the Pumasi Samchunkase Regular Table.

They do have a "Small Table" meant for two,

but both of us are total food monsters! Haha

So, we went ahead and ordered the Regular Table, which is designed for three.

Normally, the dishes are served in courses one after another,

but we wanted to see the full spread all at once for a photo.

So, we asked the owner, and they kindly brought everything out together!

Before the main dishes arrived,

we were served a round of complimentary sides (banchan).

Everything from simple snacks like macaroni salad,

kimchi, and toasted seaweed,

to crowd-pleasing bites like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)

and pan-fried pink sausage.

Honestly, just these starter sides

were enough to easily empty a whole bottle of alcohol!

This was actually my first time at an Imokase pub,

and I had no idea the starters

would be this incredibly generous! Is it always this good?

I was so pleasantly surprised by the sheer variety.

And here are the main dishes served that day.

Boiled pork slices (suyuk), cream pasta, Mapo tofu, tuna crackers,

spicy sea snail salad (golbaengi-muchim), green onion pancake (pajeon), and fish cake soup (eodeng-tang)!

The portions were so massive they practically overflowed the table,

and I loved how diverse the menu was—meat, noodles, soup, seafood—

with absolutely no overlapping flavors.

It’s the perfect place to combine dinner and drinks

all in one single spot without having to move to a second venue.

Out of all the incredible food we had that day,

my personal absolute favorite

was definitely the Mapo Tofu.

The combination of silky-smooth tofu

and the savory minced meat sauce was so perfectly balanced,

it was delicious no matter how I ate it.

It tasted amazing on its own, but

topping it with the fresh cilantro served on the side made it even better.

Honestly, if we had a bowl of rice,

I would have mixed it right into that sauce and devoured it!

The suyuk (boiled pork) was incredibly clean-tasting with zero gamey smell,

making it tender, savory, and the perfect companion for a drink.

The **tuna crackers** were so easy to snack on

and paired perfectly with the drinks.

Whenever the other bites started feeling a bit heavy,

a bite of the **spicy sea snail salad (golbaengi-muchim)** instantly refreshed my palate.

Overall, the balance of all the dishes was spot on.

Plus, getting this entire spread

for only around ~$13 per person

made me realize **what an amazing value** this place really is.

Since the menu changes daily,

I'm already so curious: **what kind of dishes will they serve next time?**

A Great Jeju City Hall Pub for Cozy Conversations

Spacious Table Layout

Pumassi (Jeju City Hall Branch) was

also an incredibly comfortable spot for chatting.

The tables are spaced relatively far apart,

so even when the place filled up,

we didn't feel crowded by the neighboring tables at all.

It felt like the perfect Jeju pub for hanging out with friends or going on a casual date.

Also, the music they played

was completely our style and at just the right volume,

so we ended up **chatting away, humming along to the tunes,**

**and having an absolute blast over our drinks.**

The Grab-Your-Own Ice Box System

There was an ice box set up right near our table,

so we could grab whatever drinks we wanted ourselves.

Keep the Drinks Flowing (The Most Important Part!)

It was so convenient not having to call over a server every time,

and although it's a small detail, it added a unique, fun element

that you don't really get at typical bars.

At first, I wondered if the drinks would actually be cold enough,

but the ice box was packed to the brim with ice,

keeping everything ice-cold! Haha. 🍻

Extra Complimentary Treats

This was another fun highlight of Pumassi—

they gave us oriental raisin tree juice (hutgae-jeup, a famous Korean hangover helper) and house-infused ginseng liquor on the house!

The ginseng liquor had such a wonderful, deep aroma!

Maybe it was thanks to the raisin tree juice we drank that night,

but I barely had any hangover the next day! Haha.

It was a **small yet highly satisfying gesture.**
