Protocol Yeonhui Cafe Review: Best for Working in Yeonhui-dong
Searching for the perfect Yeonhui-dong cafe for remote work? Protocol Yeonhui is famous for great coffee. Discover how to snag a spot for a productive afternoon!

Protocol Yeonhui, famous in Yeonhui-dong for its delicious coffee and great atmosphere for getting work done,
On weekends, the wait used to be so long that I'd often give up and go elsewhere.
But this time, I visited around 4 PM and got to enjoy it at a more relaxed pace.

Protocol Yeonhui is nestled in one of Yeonhui-dong's trendiest alleyways, near Saruga Mart, surrounded by plenty of other hot spots.
📍 Protocol Yeonhui Branch
2F, 109 Yeonhui-ro, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul
Head through the entrance and up to the second floor, and you'll find Protocol Yeonhui.
The restroom is separately located outside the entrance, but it's exclusively for Protocol Yeonhui customers, making it pleasant and spotless.

Open the glass door and you'll immediately be greeted by exposed concrete and expansive glass windows.
As expected, the table seats were completely full!

Fortunately, there were open spots at the bar seating in front of the counter.

While the bar seats don't have power outlets, making it a bit tricky for laptop work,
you can sign up on the waiting list, wait here briefly, and then move to a table seat when one becomes available!

When I visited, it was around 4 PM on a Saturday,
and there were about 2 groups ahead of me, so I added my name to the list and decided to order first.

Additionally, they offer a variety of coffee-themed programs that you can reserve in advance and enjoy during your visit.

Inside Protocol Yeonhui, you'll find the Protocol Showroom,
which is where all the reserved programs take place!
Protocol Yeonhui Coffee Beans & Desserts

Protocol is a coffee brand that's truly passionate about its beans,
so you can read detailed descriptions for all their beans and even try smelling them yourself.

Not only do they offer general coffee beans, but they also specialize in wholesale bean supply to other cafes, which is why their official website provides detailed introductions for each type of bean.

For standard coffee menu items, you can choose from three different beans.

The prices are quite reasonable too: Americano for ~$4 and Cafe Latte for ~$4.
(Decaf beans are an additional ~$1)
My friend and I ordered this way:

The desserts, by the way, change seasonally,
and when I visited, Financiers, Basque cheesecakes, and house sandwiches were available for order.
The financiers and Basque cheesecakes are from a brand called Pâtisserie Kisetsu!

When you take out, you can also earn coupon points.

They provide a coffee bean description card with every coffee menu item, which I really appreciated because I could read it thoroughly.
I tend to be sensitive to caffeine in the late afternoon, so I often order a decaf latte.
The Colombia Sugarcane Decaf beans I ordered were a wonderfully nutty bean with notes of dark chocolate and walnut, and they paired absolutely perfectly with the latte!

What's more, fitting the brand name 'Protocol',
it was impressive that a brewing guide for the beans was also included!

My friend ordered an Iced Americano with the Fruity Blend beans,
and it was a fragrant bean with a refreshing, not overpowering, acidity!
About 20 minutes after arriving, we were informed that an inner table was available, and so we were able to move inside.

The inner table area is divided into window-side seats perfect for concentrating, and tables in the middle of the hall that are great for conversations.
All of these table seats have power outlets, making them ideal for working or studying!
However, if there's a waiting line, usage is limited to 3 hours.

And just like that, with my latte, I opened my laptop and started working.

Inside, I was also impressed to find a separate bookshelf managed in partnership with Millie's Library.
If you're a subscriber to Millie's Library, there's also a 20% discount available, so don't miss out on that!

Overall, with its calm atmosphere, the window seats especially attracted many individuals who came alone to study.
It's perfect for quiet solo concentration, and the coffee is delicious, so I can totally see why it's a popular cafe for studying or working!
Just be aware that you might encounter a waiting line during weekend peak hours. Even if it's full, I still recommend checking the waiting list to gauge if it's worth the wait!
