If your bus journey in Korea is 3 hours or longer (that's about 180 miles!), I always recommend opting for the Premium Express Bus.
While the 'Excellent' class buses are good, the Premium service truly shines with reliable charging, seats that recline fully without bothering anyone behind you, and a wonderfully private seating arrangement. It's totally worth it! :)
If you're curious about the Premium Express Bus seats, I'm excited to share my top seat recommendations and personal experience!
1. How to Book
For international travelers, booking through Klook is often the easiest and most convenient option.

You can search for your departure and arrival cities in English. For example, if you're traveling from Seoul to Busan, simply type 'Seoul' and 'Busan'.

It's super handy that you can see which bus operator is running the service, making it easy to compare schedules when you book.
2. Recommended Premium Bus Seats
Premium Express Buses typically have 21 seats. Based on my experience with Kumho Express Premium Buses, I highly recommend seats 1-15.

Here's why:
There's a slight step up to seats 16-18, and another step to seats 19-21. These six seats at the back are elevated a bit higher, which, in my opinion, makes them feel slightly less private than the front section.
3. Seat and Ride Review
I first rode a Premium Express Bus back when they were initially introduced, and I've taken them again recently for trips. They are undeniably more comfortable than the 'Excellent' class buses, making them a strong recommendation for any long-distance journey.

The seat cushions are thick and plush, and I especially loved the adjustable headrest that provides excellent neck support.
The seating arrangement is 1-2. If you're looking for maximum privacy or traveling solo, I definitely recommend securing one of the single seats, as the middle seats in the '2' configuration don't have a curtain on the left side.

Below the monitor, there's a wireless charging pad and a dedicated compartment for drinks, offering plenty of space. However, I found the wireless charging to be a bit unreliable, so I highly recommend bringing your own USB charging cable for faster and more consistent power.

My absolute favorite feature was the 'Request' function, located on the bottom right of the monitor. We've all been there – suddenly needing a restroom break during a long bus ride! With the Premium Bus, you can discreetly request a stop right from your seat, which is a huge peace of mind.
Though, I noticed the real-time route information on the monitor wasn't always perfectly accurate.

There's also a sturdy pull-out table below, perfect for your bag or setting up your tablet to watch a show. The legroom is generous, and you can either rest your feet on the footrest or extend the calf support for an even more reclined and comfortable position.

It truly feels like you're flying business class! With individually adjustable leg, back, and neck rests, you can customize your seat to fit your body perfectly. This makes even the longest bus journeys surprisingly relaxing – you can comfortably rest or even catch some sleep.

Another fantastic perk is the free Wi-Fi! While there were a few spots on the highway where it slowed down, it was a lifesaver for someone like me with limited daily data. Even though it's free, the speed was decent enough to comfortably stream YouTube videos.

It was great sharing my latest bus experience! I'll be sure to post more reviews on various transportation options in Korea soon. If you have any more questions about riding the Premium Express Bus, feel free to leave a comment below!
