Uncover Pocheon's best-kept secret, Herb Island Hantangang Cafe. This charming spot offers breathtaking views, unique drinks, and a perfect family escape. Find out why it's a local favorite!
It's near my parents' place, so I've seriously been here over ten times!
It's always bustling,
and they have great PR,
They might even become our competitor in the future... hehe.
Since I'm a blogger myself,
I thought I'd take this chance to leave a record,
and post about it!

Exterior
It's so charming even in winter!!
It's lovely that a place like this is near my parents' place~
With such an open and inviting atmosphere, my parents, my daughters, and I have definitely been coming here for over 5 years,
maybe even 7 or 8 years? It could be even longer!
There's also a playground in the back,
the kids grab a flower pot shake
and play at the playground.
Next to Herb Island, you'll also find the Hantangang World Geopark Center.
I've been there about 3 times,
but they were closed for a while due to COVID,
so it's been ages since my last visit.
There are outdoor tables too,
and when the weather gets nice, it makes you want to enjoy a cup of tea on the terrace.
(I've actually never had a drink outside... there are always too many of us!)
Interior
Even though it was right after a holiday,
it was still bustling with people!
There are so many charming decorative pieces that give off a foreign, French, or Dutch (just rambling here!) kind of vibe.
Herb Island is supposed to have a Mediterranean-themed lifestyle, but....
maybe it's because I just visited Petite France... anyway, it has that cozy, antique, and beautiful feel.
They also sell bread on one side.
You'll also find a variety of herb products here!
The bread prices are a bit on the expensive side, though
(because the quantity isn't much for the price).
Overall, I think the baked goods taste pretty good.
I've had a few before, but I can't quite remember them now. Oops!
The garlic sticks are probably the best value for money, and I've had them a few times.
But in the end, we usually just end up having tea and chatting.
They also sell drinks and slices of cake separately.
Menu
Herb Island Cafe
is a spot I visit with Sanjeong Lake every time I go to my parents' home,
so I've been there more than 10 times, seriously!!
Among the drinks I remember having over the years:
For coffee, there's Americano, Cafe Latte, Vanilla Latte,
Herb Cafe Latte (it might have mint in it, it has a slightly refreshing, cool sensation... personally, not my favorite).
For lattes, Sweet Potato Latte, Mugwort Latte, Injeolmi Latte, and Peach Iced Tea.
I've also tried the Vanilla Flower Pot Shake and the Oreo Flower Pot Shake.
The lattes and shakes tend to be quite sweet.
My Recommended Menu Items:
For coffee: Vanilla Latte
For lattes: Mugwort Latte
(Have it iced. It's not too sweet.
The Sweet Potato Latte is delicious, but it is sweet).
Flower Pot Shake varieties
(The Flower Pot Shakes have unique decorations, making them worth trying!
The taste is also above average...
The Oreo Flower Pot Shake is quite sweet, but kids absolutely love it.
The Vanilla Shake was so sweet once that I even asked them to add more milk!
Here, when you place your order, they offer shoulder steaming.
They spray mint on your neck,
and place a warm herbal hot pack on your shoulders, helping you relax.
It's a great place to chat,
and you can talk freely without feeling self-conscious, which I really appreciate.
Blurred out my lovely family's faces for privacy! 😄
Still, to have a place like this,
where I can be with the people I cherish,
a spot we always return to, filled with our own unique memories,
and to be able to spend such precious time,
I am truly thankful.
