Sanjeong Lake Walk

We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around Sanjeong Lake.

The walking paths at Sanjeong Lake are so well-maintained,

I think it's beautiful in every season.

They say it's ranked 18th among Korea's tourist attractions, LOL.

My mom says she used to visit here when she was younger,

I've been coming since I was a kid,

and now even my daughters come too, haha!

When I was preparing for job interviews and felt overwhelmed,

my mom would always bring me here for a walk.

I think that's when I first truly appreciated how wonderful Sanjeong Lake is,

even though I'd come here every year for school picnics as a kid, haha.

The entrance to Sanjeong Lake's walking path has been renovated,

and it looks much cleaner now.

In winter, they even had Santa sleigh rides!

But we didn't get to go this year.

We usually park at Upper Sanjeong Lake

and walk a full loop in reverse.

(Takes about 1 hour)

In winter, the crisp, cold air here

feels incredibly clean and refreshing.

With the lake and abundant trees, the air quality is fantastic.

But it's backlit, so the photos didn't turn out great.

There were talks of a cable car or

monorail being built at Sanjeong Lake,

but those rumors just disappeared.

It hasn't changed much from the past, so sometimes I wish it would develop more,

but then again, I also worry it might lose its natural charm

and become like every other developed place. So, maybe no development is a good thing.

I just wish they'd take better care of the dying trees on the mountain....

Seeing trees falling into the lake makes me worried.

Pocheon Herb Island

I visited Herb Island a few years ago,

so this time I figured I'd just see the pink sand at night.

We had an early dinner and headed out,

but it turned out we were way too late...

Looking back, we really went too late.

It's a huge place, perfect for taking kids

and exploring at a leisurely pace.

I really should have just gone after lunch instead.

I totally misjudged the timing.

What a waste of the expensive admission fee! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

We booked through Naver

and got our tickets online.

When I entered,

I also received a Herb Island gift certificate,

but since I arrived late, I couldn't use it in the end.

ㅠㅠㅠ What a shame!

There are so many photo zones everywhere!!!!

Pink Sand

Well... in fact, this is why I came back again,

but since it was nighttime, all the photos came out really red.

Still, the lighting against the dark night sky

created a contrast of pink and red?,

which definitely gave it a mysterious vibe.

In the open space in the middle, delicate light-up flowers sway.

Perhaps because the area is so spacious,

it feels like it could use more to fill it.

Pink Sand Dune

You can even go sand sledding here!

If only I had come during the day, I would've had even more fun....

There were sleds at the bottom of the sand, so I took a few rides.

Since closing time was already approaching,

I quickly scanned Santa Village after passing through the greenhouse.

My frantic camera movements, lol.

Still, Santa Village doesn't seem to have changed much

since my last visit.

We quickly made our way through the greenhouse!

Luckily, there were a few other late teams like us, which was a relief!

Next time, I definitely want to go a bit earlier,

and enjoy it more leisurely with the kids.

Perhaps because they came when they were younger,

they didn't remember it very well;;;;

But even so, today's nighttime Pink Muhly field was absolutely worth visiting! Haha.
