The tomato-shaped sign in Italian flag colors
was really cute,
and right here, beneath the traditional tiled roofs of the Hanok Village,
is Pizzeria Ongo 70', where an authentic Neapolitan oven works its magic.

Seeing the Neapolitan Pizza Association (APN) certification mark for their oven,
I entered with a resounding 'ooh la la!'
Pizzeria Ongo 70': The Atmosphere

The moment you open the door, the authentic Neapolitan oven greets you.
This Jeonju Hanok Village pizza gem offers both dine-in and takeout,
I even saw a foreign customer waiting for their takeout pizza, and it made me think,
'Wow, coming all the way to Korea just for pizza is pretty amazing!'
Also, to be chosen by 'locals' (even if they're fellow travelers) in a tourist spot,
really piqued my curiosity about the taste.
This is *the* place, an Italian restaurant showcasing contemporary Canotto-style pizza, which is the latest trend straight from Naples.

From tables for two to those for four or five people,
the setup is clean and well-arranged.

It wasn't quite an 'open run' (arriving right at opening), but I visited almost immediately after they opened,
and a family was already enjoying their meal.
The parents (not mine, haha!) were exclaiming 'Delicious, delicious!' as they ate their pizza.
Not seeking out bibimbap,
but rather enjoying pizza in Jeonju Hanok Village –
now that's a refined palate!
With its clean interior
and an atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of a traditional hanok,
it truly was a unique experience!〰️
Pizzeria Ongo 70': The Menu

You can conveniently order and pay
via the QR code on your table.
Beyond the wood-fired pizzas,
they also offer a variety of pastas that pair perfectly with pizza,
and even organic Italian ades.
Infused with the essence of Jeonju Hanok Village,
the Jeonju Hanwoo Tteokgalbi Seaweed Sauce Pizza and
the Jeonju Hanwoo Tteokgalbi Rosé Pasta
are unique dishes you won't find anywhere else!!
But when it comes to wood-fired pizza, the classic is undoubtedly...
the Margherita, right? 😉
So, let's order the Margherita pizza,
Truffle Carbonara,
and an organic lemonade! ^.~

Baked in a Neapolitan Oven
Pizzeria Ongo 70' Menu Review

Pickles and honey are served as standard, of course.

This is Naples!
(Never been to Naples though)

I even got a Pizza PhD certificate(?) photo!

I got to witness the owner making pizza firsthand!
They quickly bake their special pizza dough, made with a 70% hydration Biga dough that's been cold-fermented for 48 hours, in a wood-fired oven over 400 degrees Celsius.
Their hands were so incredibly fast!
It felt quicker than making a McDonald's burger,,

The dough puffing up inside the oven!
Crispy outside, tender inside—no, crispy outside, delightfully bouncy inside!
This is the latest Neapolitan trend: Canotto‼️

And check out the organic certification mark!
The lemonade 🍊 was amazing..

Margherita pizza and
Truffle Carbonara

Spin, spin~
I wanted to spin the pasta and pizza prettily,
but the pizza plate was so heavy that my over-ambitious attempt
ended up looking like a rusty gear turning,,^^;

The Carbonara had a lovely truffle aroma wafting from it.

Soaked in sauce,,
After finishing the pasta, I even used the dough to sop up every last bit of sauce.

Could've easily had one whole pizza per person,,
I'm not a big fan of American-style pizza,
but wood-fired pizza is a whole different story.
Freshly baked in the wood-fired oven,
with chewy dough and plenty of cheese—
it was the classic Margherita itself‼️

It was there,,,
then it was gone.
