Oude Seongsu Cafe Review 2026: Must-Try Berliner Donuts

Seoul's Seongsu district is absolutely overflowing with trendy bakeries and cafes, making it a wonderfully tough decision where to grab your next treat. Recently, I discovered Oude Seongsu, and it ticked all the boxes: fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices. I'm excited to share my personal review!

Oude Seongsu: Location & Hours

(Just a short 0.2-mile walk from Seongsu Station, Exit 2)

Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Saturday - Sunday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

When you first arrive, you might wonder if you're in the right place. The first floor houses a brand showroom called Youth, but simply head up the stairs to find Oude Seongsu!

Since the cafe is on the second floor and the stairs are quite steep, it's designated as a No Kids Zone for safety reasons.

However, the first floor boasts an outdoor terrace where pets are welcome. On weekends, you might even stumble upon a charming flea market held there!

Oude Seongsu: Signature Menu

The star of the show at Oude Seongsu is their uniquely shaped Berliner Donut!

These delightful donuts, filled with various jams and creams, come in four tempting flavors. While they're definitely on the sweeter side, they are absolutely delicious and pair perfectly with a cup of coffee. 🤭

When we visited, the Berliner Chocolate was already sold out, much to my husband's dismay (he's a huge chocolate fan!). 🥹

I quickly grabbed one of the last remaining Berliner Cinnamon donuts.

While the Berliner was what drew us in, many other items on the menu looked incredibly tempting!

A combination of pain au chocolat and glutinous rice cake? That sounded quite unique! I decided to save it for another visit as I thought the rice cake might be a bit too filling after our meal.

Their baked goods also looked fantastic, and considering Seongsu's reputation for higher prices, they were surprisingly reasonable.

They even offer a selection of savory breads and sandwiches, making it a great spot for a light brunch!

The interior of Oude Seongsu features an exposed concrete aesthetic, complemented by lush plants throughout. The space feels incredibly open and airy, which was a huge plus – even with a crowd, it didn't feel cramped or overwhelming!

We visited after lunch specifically for dessert, so we only ordered the Berliner Cinnamon and an Americano. They were so good, we devoured them before I even remembered to snap a picture! 🤣

In a bustling and often pricey area like Seongsu, Oude Seongsu stands out as an excellent cafe. I'm already planning my next visit to try their savory breads for a delicious brunch!
