Onshim Jeju Sauna Review 2026: Ocean-View Finnish Spa

A Finnish sauna with an ocean view

In the chilly winter,

on Jeju Island,

I was looking for

a cozy indoor spot

to unwind.

Then, I found

a Finnish-style sauna

with an ocean view,

located in Jocheon,

not far from Jeju City.

It was exactly what I needed.

I'm so glad I found it!

Once you see a large white building,

you've arrived at Onsim!

Parking

The alleyways here are quite narrow.

From the shop,

once you see this sign,

turn around near the pavilion

to park your car.

There's space to park

about 4 to 5 cars.

It takes about

30 minutes

from Jeju Airport.

Interior & Atmosphere

Large floor-to-ceiling windows

showing the stone walls and sea views,

and the interior

was decorated

so cute and cozy.

The little duck wearing

sauna clothes is just too adorable!

They offer a variety

of water and teas,

as well as drinks like

kombucha,

Jeju Sunset,

sikhye (sweet rice drink),

baked eggs,

and everything from Americano

to matcha.

After your sauna and shower,

you can sit here

to relax before you head out.

Reservations & Pricing

The price is

~$13 per person for 2 hours.

I thought it might feel a bit short,

but it was actually

more than enough time.

If you don't book in advance,

you might end up waiting

for quite a while.

We decided to

book the Pyongsang (floor seating) Room

for the 10:00 AM slot!

Restrooms

Right next to the waiting area,

there is a restroom

and a sink area.

Showers & Locker Room

Slide the curtain open,

place your shoes

in the slipper cubby,

and place your clothes in these lockers.

The locker space is on the smaller side.

Since we had bulky winter clothes,

it was a bit of a tight squeeze,

but we managed to get everything in.

Just keep in mind they are quite compact!

Next, change into

the provided sauna clothes.

They will also give you

one towel.

After taking a quick shower,

hair dryers are available for use.

The guide suggests keeping your shower to about 10 minutes,

and mentions that

after your sauna session,

it's perfectly fine to let

your sweat dry naturally!

2nd Floor Ocean-View Finnish Sauna

If you walk up

these stairs...

...you'll find the Finnish sauna

with a gorgeous view

of the beautiful ocean!

They welcomed us with

a warm, savory cup of tea

and walked us through

how to use the facilities.

While we enjoyed the sauna,

they slow-roasted sweet potatoes and potatoes,

which they brought to us

about an hour into

our session!

The staff drops by every now and then

to check on the temperature

and adjust it for you.

It gets incredibly warm

and delightfully hot—

as we kept relaxing inside,

we started sweating quite a bit!

Here,

you can lie down and relax,

and there's even a thermometer.

You can take a quick nap,

relax,

and just enjoy the peaceful vibes.

I loved pouring water

over the hot stones with a wooden ladle.

So cool!

When it gets too hot,

just open this door

and step outside.

There are chairs where you can sit,

catch a cool breeze,

and look out at the beautiful ocean view.

It's so refreshing,

so healing,

and there are so many

birds flying over the sea.

We even made the classic "lamb-head" towel hats

and took some fun photos!

The Eats & Treats

I'm so glad we chose the wooden platform (pyeongsang).

We could stretch our legs out

and fully relax.

We ordered some incredibly delicious

sikhye (sweet rice punch).

It was only ~$3,

but it was so rich, sweet, and tasty!

If you write a Naver review,

they give you complimentary sauna eggs...

and they gave us three of them!

They were so soft and delicious.

Because it was hot, the sikhye tasted even better,

and though their cold kimchi noodles are famous,

we had to skip them since we were having a proper meal later...

Next up were our highly anticipated sweet potatoes and potatoes.

I don't think the sweet potatoes were

the typical pumpkin sweet potatoes,

but they were incredibly sweet,

and the potatoes were so delicious too!

This place is a total foodie spot!

We wrapped it up with

a cup of warm, nutty tea.

True to its name "On-shim" (complete rest),

it was truly

a place where we could completely relax.

Our chilled bodies warmed up completely,

and looking out at the ocean view

while taking a deep rest

made it feel like our whole day

got completely reset.

If you're looking for ultimate relaxation, On-shim

is highly recommended!
