Not long ago, I stayed at an accommodation in Jongno, and as soon as I checked out, I headed straight to a super popular spot right across the street!
I visited
'Onjisum,' a Hanok-style cafe with a traditional vibe in Jongno Insa-dong.
Every time I passed by it during my two-day stay, it was always bustling with a never-ending stream of customers!
I told my husband, "When we check out, we *have* to get brunch there!"
I had my eye on it the whole time, and we finally made it on our last day!😊

🌿Serene Hanok Ambiance & Fantastic Planterior!
From the moment I stepped inside, the serene Hanok vibe, generously infused with lush green plants, created an incredibly impressive 'planterior' design💚.
The weather lately has been really hot,
but the inside was perfectly cool and comfortable thanks to the powerful air conditioning!
Even though it was quite busy, the open windows created such a wonderful sense of spaciousness and openness.
There was no stuffiness at all, and we could hear each other perfectly, making it the ideal spot for a cozy chat with my husband!
It's perfect not just for a date, but also an excellent spot for gatherings, and I noticed a lot of international guests too!
🥯 An Eye-Popping Array of Bagels!
As soon as I entered the cafe,
my eyes were immediately drawn to the display case!
From plain and whole wheat bagels made with organic Korean wheat to unique varieties I'd never seen before, like salt-pepper pretzel, olive cheese, and spinach basil bagels – the selection was incredible.
You can even catch a glimpse of the bagels being baked fresh beyond the showcase,
which definitely boosted my confidence in this place! 👍
As a true bread lover, I wanted to pick out one of each kind,
but since it was morning, I promised myself to keep it simple.
Among the many delicious options,
I ordered the Brunch Plate!
🍽️ The Brunch Plate: A Masterpiece of Chewiness

• Olive Bagel + Balsamic Sauce + Vitamin Vegetable Salad
• Iced Caffè Latte (~$4)
• Iced Americano (~$4)
For the Brunch Plate, you get to choose one bagel,
and I went with the Olive Cheese Bagel and balsamic dressing for the salad!
The chewy olive bagel, paired with cream cheese and a plump frankfurter sausage,
and a salad with balsamic dressing, creates a truly artistic culinary experience
with its unique, delightful texture!
With the fresh, crisp vitamin vegetable salad
and rich, aromatic coffee, a perfect morning meal was complete!
I noticed other international visitors enjoying 2-3 bagels each,
and if only my stomach were bigger, I would have loved to try the cinnamon pecan and fig bagels too!
I was so full that I couldn't even get some to-go, and it's such a shame!
I'm already nagging my husband that we *must* come back next time we're in Jongno. 🤣
If you're looking for a brunch café with a charming hanok (traditional Korean house) vibe
