Oakwood Premier COEX Staycation: My Honest Review (Paid for by Me!) – 3 Top Tips, Facilities, Prices, and Even the Downsides, All Frankly Discussed

At the end of the year, my husband and I went on a hotel staycation for a refreshing getaway.

We had been running busy all year, so we really wanted to unwind right in the heart of Gangnam (강남).

The place we chose was Oakwood Premier COEX (오크우드 프리미어 코엑스).

To cut to the chase, Oakwood COEX is a place that has a golf course, swimming pool, and fitness center all within one building.

So, we went there to relax, but guess what? We didn't rest *at all*! LOL!

(It's true, Koreans never truly rest, haha!)

We made full use of the facilities, enjoyed dates at nearby restaurants and COEX (코엑스), and even had a cake party in the evening!!

I'll cover everything from the price, location, rooms, and facilities, to some great tips and even the downsides, one by one.

Starting with the golden revolving door, the hotel already had a distinct luxurious feel!

1. Oakwood COEX Prices and Yeogieottae (여기어때) Discounts

At the front desk, there was a display board with room information, from studios to penthouses.

Even the smallest room, the Studio Superior, was listed as 47㎡ (14 pyeong), so even the basic rooms are quite spacious.

However, the prices on the display board are rack rates, so there's a big difference from the actual booking prices.

I always compare all sites like Yeogieottae, Trip.com, and Agoda to find the absolute cheapest booking and get the lowest price!

When I checked multiple times, the cheapest link was right here!

There was a difference of almost ₩150,000 (~$113)!

2. Oakwood Premier COEX Location and Transportation

The address is 46 Teheran-ro 87-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울).

It's about a 10-minute walk from Samseong Station (삼성역) on Line 2, and you can also use Bonguensa Station (봉은사역) and Samseongjungang Station (삼성중앙역) on Line 9.

If you're coming from the airport, the most convenient route is to take Line 9 from Gimpo Airport (김포공항) and get off at Bonguensa Station, as it's a direct route without transfers.

If you're arriving by car, guests get one free parking spot per room, so just register your car number at check-in.

3. Oakwood COEX Check-in and Room Key

Check-in is at 3 PM,

Check-out is at 11 AM.

The room key is a wooden card,

which felt subtly luxurious!

Inside the key card case,

the breakfast times are written,

and if you lose or don't return the key,

you'll be charged ₩11,000 (~$8) per key.

4. Oakwood Premier Coex (오크우드 프리미어 코엑스) Rooms and Room Condition

As soon as I entered the room,

it was, as expected of a 5-star hotel, clean, spacious,

and I felt it was a great hotel for a "hocance" (hotel vacation).

There's a sofa next to the bed

and a separate round table,

which made it perfect for two people to sit facing each other and relax.

Even with two suitcases unfolded,

there's plenty of space to move around.

Right next to the bed is a large window,

so you can see the city view even while lying down.

As soon as the curtains were opened,

someone immediately struck a pose..

(That would be my husband... lol)

Being on the 17th floor, the skyscraper forest of Gangnam (강남) was

spread out magnificently!!

There's a lighting control panel and

an outlet by the bedside,

making it convenient to charge devices while lying down.

Since it's a residence hotel,

it has a proper kitchen.

An induction stove, microwave, toaster,

electric kettle, sink,

and even a large refrigerator!!

When we had our evening cake party,

this kitchen was a stroke of genius.

The bathroom has both a bathtub and a shower,

in a combined layout,

and a bidet is also installed.

From bathrobes to an iron and slippers,

the basic amenities were thoughtfully provided.

5. Oakwood Premier Coex Golf Course, Swimming Pool, and Gym

This was the highlight of our staycation!!

At the Fitness Club,

you can use the gym, swimming pool, and golf range

from 06:00 to 21:30,

and the sauna is open until 22:00.

Guests can use it for free,

but the number of free admissions is limited by room type,

and it's regularly closed on the first Wednesday of every month.

My husband had an absolute blast

at the golf range lol ㅋㅋㅋ

The golf range and sauna

are only accessible to those aged 19 and over.

According to the on-site sign,

the swimming pool is 20m x 6m,

with a depth of 1.2~1.3m.

Minors can only use it from 10:00 to 17:00,

and children under 6 are not permitted.

6. Oakwood Premier COEX (오크우드 프리미어 코엑스) Breakfast Prices and Hours

Breakfast is served at the Oak Restaurant on the 5th floor

from 06:30 to 10:00 on weekdays,

and until 10:30 on weekends and public holidays.

According to the booking site information:

₩48,000 (~$36) for adults,

and ₩24,000 (~$18) for children aged 4-12.

We didn't include breakfast and

only booked the room,

so I can't speak for the breakfast taste...!

7. Great Restaurants Near Oakwood COEX and a COEX (코엑스) Date

After enjoying the amenities,

we went to nearby restaurants,

and had a date at COEX.

True to a trip meant for refreshing,

we made sure to relax and take it easy.

In the evening, we had

a private party in our room with cake!!

It was simple,

but truly blissful...ㅠㅠㅠ

8. Oakwood Premier COEX Staycation Hacks

Tip 1.

If you're going for the amenities,

avoid the first Wednesday of every month!!

It's a regular closure day.

Tip 2.

If you're traveling with children,

it's best to plan your schedule around the swimming pool's operating hours for minors (10:00-17:00).

Tip 3.

Since there's a kitchen, buy cakes or snacks

in advance and put them in the fridge.

It's perfect for an anniversary party!
