Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam Exterior & General View

Perched slightly uphill,
the Novotel Ambassador Gangnam greets you.

Being part of the Accor Novotel group and situated in the heart of Gangnam,
it seemed to draw quite a global crowd. Whether for business or leisure,
it felt like there were actually more international travelers than locals here!
They also have conference rooms, which reminded me of a time I visited for an event in the past! haha
1st Floor Lobby

The bellhops were busy helping guests with their luggage and check-in.
I absolutely loved the wonderful floral fragrance wafting from the center of the lobby.

Day and Night
As soon as you walk into the lobby, you're greeted by their famous mini Eiffel Tower.
Behind this lobby lounge cafe,
there's a beautiful artificial waterfall carved right into the hillside.
It's definitely the perfect scenic backdrop to enjoy the hotel's signature afternoon tea!

I received a fresh mango tart
from the hotel deli as a gift, and oh my goodness, it was delicious!!!!
(It probably tasted even better because I didn't know the price.)

On the left, there's a restaurant called 'Entrée',
and you'll pass a cool music bar on your way to the front desk.
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 12:00 PM

If you head to the right side of the lobby,
you'll find the front desk for check-in.

There are plenty of seating areas, including the space right next to the music bar.
They even have a cozy Kids' Corner
where children can play and stay entertained during check-in.
It felt like a really thoughtful touch from the hotel.

Once you've checked in,
you head back towards the elevator hall
to catch your lift upstairs.

There are three elevators in total,
divided into one for the basement levels, one that stops at every floor, and another specifically for the lobby and guest rooms.
The system automatically assigns the quickest one,
so you never have to wait very long!

Here's a quick floor guide!
Guest rooms are located on the 4th through 17th floors.
The Square, the breakfast restaurant, is on the 2nd floor,
and the gym, pool, and sauna are on the 3rd floor.
Hong Bo Gak, the famous Chinese restaurant helmed by Chef Lu Ching-lai, is located on the LL (Lower Lobby) floor.

The guest room hallway, where you can look down at the bustling city traffic.
Though there is a slight typical carpet smell,
everything is kept incredibly clean and tidy.
Superior Double Room

I was assigned Room 919.

Behind the sliding door to the left of the entrance,
you'll find a closet, weight scales, a safe, and room slippers,
as well as an ironing board and iron ready to use.

There's a laundry service form and laundry bag.
I sent mine in around 10:30 AM
and got it back just after 4:00 PM the very same day. Super fast!

Here's a look at the bedroom.
With a cozy workspace, a small sofa, and a mini table,
it has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay.

I’m not usually a huge fan of carpeted rooms,
but they kept it so spotlessly clean
that it didn't bother me at all.

The view from Room 919 is a classic Gangnam residential hillside view.

Sometimes you might catch a glimpse of guests using the spa on the 2nd floor,
so just a little heads-up when looking out...!

There's space to open up your luggage along with some drawers,
and two complimentary bottles of water are provided every night.
A Samsung Smart TV is installed,
so you can watch standard local channels,
as well as stream Netflix, TVING, YouTube, and more!

This workspace was great for getting some work done,
and it doubled perfectly as a vanity.
There were extra drawers on the right, which was super handy for storage.
Seeing the Bible in the drawer
made me realize all over again that this is a truly global hotel brand...

The window is about the size you see here,
and it opens just a crack.
It was great for letting some fresh air in
when the AC got a bit stuffy (just watch out for the street noise!).

Along with a retro-vibe telephone,
there are lighting control buttons right at the bedside,
plus multi-port charging outlets compatible with various plugs.
It was also incredibly convenient to be able to set
the "Do Not Disturb" sign right from the bed.

Complimentary coffee & tea,
paid amenities, whiskey, snacks, and drinks.
Heads up, everything in the mini-fridge is paid too!

An absolutely wild lineup of alcoholic drinks for room service.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is an all-in-one space.
There is no separate shower stall,
so you have to draw the shower curtain and shower inside the tub.
Make sure to use the curtain, or water will splash everywhere
and make the floor super slippery!

The toilet was tucked away in a corner in a rather unique layout,
but it came with a bidet and the flush power was decent enough.

You can find the other bathrobe behind the door,
and the hairdryer is wall-mounted, which was a bit inconvenient.
If you're particular about your hair tools, you might want to bring your own.

The sink area comes with complimentary amenities,
including hand wash, body lotion, and face towels.

The bathtub area gave off classic American home vibes, maybe because of the shower curtain.
The bath amenities—body wash, shampoo, and conditioner—are provided in multi-use dispensers.
They are Novotel’s signature brand (just like the hand wash),
and the quality was pretty decent!
Robot Delivery for Extra Requests

I called down to request a wine opener and some wine glasses.
Suddenly, there was a rather firm knock on the door, and I wondered what was going on...
and I was so surprised to open the door and see a delivery robot!
I've seen them roaming around a few times and often spot them in hotels in China,
but it was my first time actually receiving a delivery from one, which was so cool! haha

The robot making a cool exit after completing its mission...
Also, maybe because they host so many international guests,
the staff at both the front desk and room service
were incredibly fluent in English.
Plus, the service was super quick!

The bathroom does not have a separate shower stall but features a combined bathtub and shower, requiring the use of a shower curtain. Amenities include Novotel's own brand of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in refillable dispensers, and there is a wall-mounted hair dryer.
If you request the laundry service around 10:30 AM, you can pick up your laundry after 4:00 PM on the same day. This quick same-day processing is highly convenient for long-term stays.
The breakfast restaurant, The Square, is located on the 2nd floor. The swimming pool, fitness center, and sauna facilities are all situated on the 3rd floor.
It takes about a 7-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station to the hotel. However, since the hotel is located at the top of a slightly steep hill, you should be prepared for an uphill walk.
